(Quote) Ah, that was also how I remembered it. Signal the better crypto/privacy, but Telegram is waay more popular. About 40 of my contacts show up on Signal, but only 2-3 ppl actually use it or even bother replying. I know more of my friends who ac…

(Quote) Thanks for replying! :) Will have a look at Prosody :D I know, this is probably a discussion that has already taken place many times, but why would you consider TG Secret Chat better than Signal? (I was always under the impression that Sign…

(Quote) Turns out, Snikket is a "sister project" from Prosody: https://prosody.im/download/ (Quote)

(Quote) Yeah, they said they're compatible with any xmpp client, too
-
(Quote) Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I also thought some XMPP might be nice, but I agree client applications can be a bit unfriendly. I also think Snikket looks interesting, but "too small/fresh" a project for me to consider it (yet): …

(Quote) Good to hear! Yeah, check out the ZAP thread I created a while ago, someone who bought a lifetime dedi asked them via ticket and they said the dedi would get replaced.
-
(Quote) Yeah, but personally I wouldn't use as much traffic anyway. Plus you can pay for extra traffic on demand iirc. So, there's that option, I guess. I posted a YABS somewhere in the ZAP thread. Pretty sure you'll find it if you look that one up.

(Quote) Another owner of ZAP Lifetime Dedi. How has your experience been overall with that one? You are saying good, but what exactly are you running on there. Got 2x lifetime ZAP VPS/Rootserver, but Dedi also sounds nice. I also remember someone el…

(Quote) I believe it was 3 Hetzner (only?) locations

(Quote) Hey there, Thanks for the reply, but this is overkill for me. I'm happy with the Futro as is and was also onna budget, so was just looking for a drive. Maybe one day, I'll upgrade the whole setup, but not for now :P

@MikePT Has something changed with the mail servers' filters? I seem to be getting way more e-mail spam than before.

Settled on getting an external case for SATA 2.5" drives and then either gonna get one of those internal hard drives (2TB) WD Blue/Seagate Barracuda's for 70€ish now, or a 1TB internal Samsung San Disk SSD/Crucial BX500 SSD for 65€-70€.

(Quote) Thanks for the feedback, mate :) But, what about the pics you got from @ehab ?

(Quote) Please let me know how things go, maybe even make pictures (..of your private.. ) ?

(Quote) Will have a look, thanks mate! :) Edit: the rack looks really nice tbh! With easy copy feature and even SD card support. Can the rack be powered through a regular power plug and only be connected to the Futro Server, or will it need to be p…

(Quote) That isn't the worst idea, just not sure weather the Futro S740 would be able to power HDD rack? Never used one. Could also buy internal drive and just buy case for it then?

(Quote) Thanks mate :) A friend also had good things to say about Seagate.

(Quote) I didn't know I needed this gif, but turns out I did.

(Quote) This seems like another case for the thread "Why do people still use IPv4?" . If IPv6 would just work for everything, and be adopted reliably, it'd be far more widespread.

Just for recording, Audacity (free) is really good. It is what we use at university to record audios. If you want to record screen, too, try OBS (also free) :)

(Quote) Not aware of any working code atm. I think Koofr stopped accepting discount codes on stacksocial for 90% of their codes
-
Koofr has been around longer and uses Hetzner. They are more reliable imho. While Internxt continues to improve, I still don't feel like I trust it to be reliable when I need it

Sounds pretty cool! Thanks for sharing, mate :)
