I mainly just Open Source my own projects (for some time I had an app for sale in the Galaxy store for the Galaxy watch, but still also made it fully available as Open Source), but usually only contribute minor fixes to other projects. Some more si…

I keep all emails indefinitely, going back to 1995 (with attachments removed)

(Quote) I guess it's just a one-time discount, not recurring? BTW, tempted by the yearly payment option on that plan: €3,889.00/year?
-
Surprisingly, this year's BF offers are actually better than last year's (except that the 1 GB plans are not on offer this year).

(Quote) Ideally you would have full flexibility with x mailboxes and y aliases.

(Quote) I wouldn't touch a catchall at all. This is such a weird setup that only really covers one tiny little use-case.

I am always suspicious of one-time payments and web sites who want my money, but don't want to reveal anything about the business (is it even a registered business?). In what way are you better than the competition who have been around for a long t…

(Quote) I am not seeing where that page says that 50k would be tax free - it's only saying that the 25 % corporation tax rate applies for companies with profits above 50k (19 % would still apply for those below that threshold). And this is, of cours…

(Quote) Do they now support IPv6 on their Shared Hosting plans?

AlphaVPS have UK KVM servers in this range: inetnum: 176.126.78.0 - 176.126.78.255netname: DAInternationalGroup_Ltd

(Quote) No /64 IPv6? Any ports blocked (e.g. 25/SMTP)?
-
Definitely offer them for transfer - chances are those offers won't be repeated again.

(Quote) Would really be looking for one in Austria (as HE doesn't have one there either).

Having a Privacy Policy would be useful. Also, could you add the public IP addresses to the list of public locations - so we can check how good latency would be before signing up?

Anyone doing anything useful with the free VPS for a month? Or is everyone just running YABS?
-
Won't most of these stories be pretty much the same "we started small (after getting interested in it as a hobby), worked very hard, really focused on our customers, ..."?

(Quote) If you only count Ubuntu's LTS releases it's pretty similar to Debian with a new release every two years.

I usually just use OpenVPN, but have ssh open as well (checking the connecting IP against a few DNS RBLs).

My DE and NL VPSes both say: "Intel(R) Xeon(R) E-2278G CPU @ 3.40GHz"

Don't trust your provider's templates and install from scratch.

(Quote) I thought it was actually 70% adoption rate (30% switching to non-paid status), which I don't think is realistic.

(Quote) Well... does it support any of those ARM laptops (including proper GPU support)?
-
If only all those ARM based laptops would have proper (mainline) Linux support... I just don't get the point of running Windows on an ARM laptop to then run emulated x86 Windows software on it.

(Quote) Maybe a wave of price increases instead?
