NGINX will continue to exist for free. I am glad they forked it. Now I am curious if it wiil it go into Debian repositories and FreeBSD repositories under a different package name?

I recommend Hurricane Electric (he.net). On server set a crontab to update the DNS using a curl command and that's it.

The end is nigh on this one.

And to think during the weekend I installed FreeBSD on a small computer at my home just to compile a software (not abuse CPU on a low-end VPS). I don't know if there are many providers for free shell on FreeBSD.

(Quote) Where did you get that Linux Mint variant? It is not on their official website.

(Quote) One can not blame providers for trying to find ways of selling their services. The problem is when it all becomes of an intrusive and abusive mess.

(Quote) Thanks for the information. I wish you success because you are a quite and old provider brand - 4 years in business and counting. I do not wish you success though in lifetimes, because that can easily be considered as an exit scam due to ex…

Let me guess: people don't trust lifetime VPS services?

So much doubling of bandwidth, storage, intelligence and whatever in this thread. I am surprised nobody asked to double the size of their "Love Muscle" so far.

One of the most known email providers is MXRoute. There is a lot of room for competition. For DNS, I don't know.

Congratulations to winners.

(Quote) I do not agree with sinking. Reviews and complaints on a specific offer should bump the thread into front page. We all like popcorn drama as well as benchmarks.

(Quote) Yes, there are. Each user posts one time and each gets one chance. This would be considered as not spammy, but also the thread might not stick onto the frontpage due to lack of constant bumps.

(Quote) The only reason where I would somewhat agree with spam is for giveaways which can not be included in offer, for example if a provider wants to giveaway a Raspberry Pi 5 in aluminum case, or some Tesla car; but even then it would have to be …

I am always for self-hosting stuff because this is the low-end way in my opinion. I believe authoritative DNS is the easiest to self-host due to low resource requirements; but even if one may grab the cheapest bare-bone low-end VPS offers with dedic…

Double bandwidth is stupid. * If a provider wants to offer double bandwidth, they can add it in the offer, or create a LES coupon. * Personal identification on a forum should not be linked with an account of provider due to privacy. * A link betwee…

It reminds me of the good old days when people were compiling software precisely for a specific system.

(Quote) Then the new hot thing might be a low-end dedicated server with a modem attached and connected to internet using dial-up?

(Quote) No. Pen and paper has its romantic story. It is about the effort in making beautiful letters which create a first aesthetic impression.
