(Quote) I am sad to say, I can't find any expert reviews on OLS vs LS that is not at least a year old. After much testing, by me, who is not anywhere close to being an expert, it works as it is supposed to. Only hate is the constant requiremen…

Digging that new review format. @cociu gets a lot of bad reps. Some due to his own mistakes but the rest due to the language barrier and not investing in customer care. Guy try to run a decent business for a price that barely pays his hardware exp…

(Quote) Damn! That bandwidth will be expensive as hell. I would stay up the budget by 3/5 bucks more and pickup an auction server from hetzner.

(Quote) If you get Arvind, you will be golden. That Dude knows his stuff. Or IDK, maybe I manage to catch them at the right time. The only thing I totally hate is their "Something went wrong" type of message. Like hell, tell me what is wro…

(Quote) Hey as they say, you pay peanuts, you get something something. Good team of dev's, working on a fulltime project, will cost more than what a lot of ours annual profit combined. You and Joe are blessed with coding skill that some of us…

(Quote) One can hope that they would pull a DA. Lower price, more volume, gain traction. Maybe slight price increases for new users while keeping Legacy as it is. I mean most of their product is dirt cheap and despite their messy error handling and…

Simple summary, not ready for production.

(Quote) That’s the whole thing man. Do I spend that money a year on a software or get more powerful hardware? Feels more like a marketing thing vs actual usage.

(Quote) Thanks man. I have considered using Nginx proxy in the past, something about it didn’t make sense in my head. Let me play with it again and maybe that would be a better solution. OLS might work for personal projects but not for commercial …

(Quote) Multi-user instance. Dedicating 2 core to LS while the rest for other processes, I just don't know if that improvement is really worth the additional $40 per month. I guess I can do some stress testings. Adding that to many other thing…

Apache 2.4, php-fpm, Mariadb 10.4. Only thing I don't like about OLS is the fact that you need to reboot after every single htaccess update. Makes it, not fun for commercial hosting projects. But still can't justify paying $600-700/year o…

Minus occasional issue, that happens with their major version upgrades, proxmox is perfect for almost everything. Great write up @Mason. I did consider them at one point, maybe it is time to reconsider them again :)

(Quote) You can feel the lag as soon as you start multi tasking. Windows don't play well with lowendspecs.

I got something similar to that from walmart. Honestly, I would rather get a frigging kindle fire hd and sideload android.

@dahartigan I think the biggest concern with multiple location based resource pool would be stock availability and stock balancing ? If I am selling you 20GB RAM and 2000GB STORAGE, I need to keep that open and available 24/7 in every single locatio…

(Quote) Man, in my half-awakened status, I saw free titty. I am disappointed.

Maybe a maximum $/Ram and storage combo? Usually average KVM offers around here are anywhere around $2-4/GB of RAM and $1-3/10 GB of SSD.

(Quote) I can’t say yes nor no , but being shared environment, I definitely wouldn’t recommend.

(Quote) Yeap. And quite easily.

Why not virtualbox? NVM, just read you use linux. Virt-manager is something I have used for some of my homelab stuff. Does what is needed to be done without much drama.
