(Quote) I see ... so we're going to spend the next several hours shouting gibberish ... I'll turn off my notifications then.

(Quote) Can you point me to the original post for this?

Why exactly is everyone shouting "C-IN-HOST-C-STANDS-FOR-CHEAP-CONVENIENT-AND-COMPETITIVE"?

(Quote) FWIW, I wasn't one of those people and I didn't actually want another box but I got one. :)

Someone wake up @tenpera! There's a Miami box.

(Quote) F me ... Yeah, is have bought that one in a heartbeat

Yes indeed. I got some credits but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Setting up some of my other treasures and troubleshooting a strange DNS issue has kept me occupied so far. Looking forward to it though.

(Quote) I was just clarifying the verbage, "1 IPv4 Address or IPv6 Only," which could be read as only having the option for one or the other.

(Quote) Did you read the part where it's not going away?

(Quote) What happens with Netboot.xyz? I think you can chainboot to netboot and it works ... lemme see if I can find my directions.

(Quote) Do we though? It's funnier when he's asleep. :)

(Quote) Just for clarity, I can only have IPv4 OR IPv6? Can't dual stack?

(Quote) This obsession of yours may be a tad unhealthy.

(Quote) Oh yeah! Go back a few pages and look for the Frank Z returns coupon....
-
(Quote) Yup, I was wrong. It'll be cleared up in the actual rules thread in a bit. Apologies for the confusion @blackeye . On the bright side, you were the catalyst for positive change today. :)

(Quote) Just putting it out there, I'm talking with @FrankZ and it's probable that I have been misinterpreting that rule. (Quote) See above. You may actually be in the right here.

(Quote) What bait-and-switch? This was a tax on people who can't read and follow directions.

(Quote) There was no issue with Virmach transferring it to you. There WAS an issue with @blackeye posting the offer on this forum. If an admin had been around they would have removed it.

(Quote) Depends on how your house is wired. Wasn't able to get either stability nor speed with mine. Got ~25Mbit on my 300Mbit connection and required resets more often than I cared for. :-/

(Quote) Just FWIW, I picked up the little-brother to that ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09VW5JHPH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 ) and it's been wonderful. I'm only running one of them in my ~900 sq. ft. house.

(Quote) They should read about memory allocation in total. They're expecting their kernel/operating system to consume no resources at all....

(Quote) "login as root remotely" right? Can still login on console as root to create the user if you need.
-
Okay I'll bite, why can't you just buy one?
-
There we go ... Now we're off to the right start. You own your own server hardware. What about the network related infra and ip space?

(Quote) If memory serves I have asked the first question previously. The answer as I recall is, "Yes, but ...." As I recall there's a fee to do it and it makes it impossible to transfer them if you decide you want to do so in the future. T…
