@bikegremlin since he is going to use a GPU card, its better to allocate more money to a graphics card instead of using a brand new CPU.
As long as it has DDR4, he will be fine.

@Chievo instead of 1 stick of RAM, install 2 of 8 GB for a total of 16 GB.
You get better overhead for the future and also you should see improved performance using the memory in a dual channe…

Recently I found [elkarte](https://www.elkarte.net/ "https://elkarte.net/") its a fork from SMF (simple machines) but with a lot of features added.
