Important buc1 Hosteroid server termination

I wanted to let you know that node buc1 will terminate on 17th of April 2026. The termination does not reflect on what FOSSVPS does or has done, simply the end of the very generous free donation period.

Please ensure you take your backups prior to this date as all data WILL BE DESTROYED.

Unfortunately we cannot migrate you, however you are very welcome to have a replacement rebuild in Frankfurt (de1), Moldova (mol1), Buffalo (us1), L.A. (us2).
A rebuild does mean all server data is destroyed.
To request a rebuild either send a DM on LES or LET to @msatt or send an email to [email protected].
In your message state you want a rebuild of buc1 vmid on either de1, mol1, us1 or us2. You can also change the Operating system if you wish (Debian, Ubuntu or Alpine).
The cut off date for migration will be 16th of April 2026 after this, your server and all records will be automatically destroyed.

I am sorry that this has happened but Hosteroid have been extremely generous in providing us this service for free.
I hope you achieved everything you wanted.

Free server for Open Source Developers

Hosteroid have kindly donated a fantastic six month server extension in Bucharest (buc2) which we will use to replace our buc1 server (ends 17th April 2026).
This is extremely generous and has been made available because they, like us, want to help the Open Source community.
All new registrations will be built on buc2.

For those interested in figures, it is an Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 v4 @ 2.60GHz (2 Sockets) Processor with 256GiB RAM and 3.5TB DIsk. So we have lots of capacity available

We also have space available on our other European and US servers. Absolutely FREE, no catches, no credits, no price bumps.

• Email address (purely for admin emails), don't make a request if you wish to be anonymous
• Failing to accept the verification email will lock you out from re-applying

If you would like a VPS, just complete this form asking what you are developing and links to previous developments.

Acceptance will give you 2 VCPU, 4GiB Ram, 64GiB disk with NAT + IPv6 /96 access on Ubuntu, Debian or Alpine in your preferred location.

For those concerned about using NAT we have our in house Open Source version of NPM. Which provides a reverse proxy so your websites are fully accessible.

We are genuinely doing this to help, so please, no abuse as it messes it up for everyone. FOSSVPS has no income and is a team of 6 volunteers. Apart from a free VPS there are no other rewards. This is driven by the community and is for the community.
