Looking for Hourly Cloud Provider for Coder.com (US West / Tokyo)

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for a cloud/VPS provider to host a Coder.com dev environment with Terraform, with the following requirements:

  • True hourly billing (destroy compute/shelving to stop billing, only pay for storage during stopped hours)
  • Dynamic / Ephemeral IP or NAT (IP must be detached when stopped to avoid idle IP fees)
  • Reliable Terraform provider / API support
  • Good connectivity to South Korea (US West, Tokyo, etc.)

I checked TierHive, but ruled them out due to limited server size choices and API constraints. I am currently considering Hetzner Cloud (US West), but I'm looking to see if there are other suitable options.

If anyone has recommendations or suitable providers for this setup, please let me know or send me a PM.

    Hi @sanvit! For a few days, until August 8, I have a Debian E5-2650Lv3 dedicated server with 128 GB ECC, 2 x 960 GB SSDs, 300 Mbps idling in Santa Clara. You are welcome to share the root and install whatever you want. It's not available for very long, but it might get you started until you find something more suitable?
