I did use some distros built on top of Debian, too, but ended up converting them to plain Debian ... The only interesting distros I haven't tried, but still are considering, is Void, NixOS and Guix ... (Might be others, I don't really pay too much attention.)
DHH is a nice guy, but too much of a salesman. Omarchy is interesting in parts, not so much in others; I tried it, but I will stick with Ubuntu. Really can't be bothered having to remember keystrokes on a desktop.

The funding they got is good news, but some of the funders are a little icky when it comes to having influence (direct or indirect) over a Linux distro:
