Alternatives to Hetzner Storage Box in US?

Maybe it's because I'm getting old. I don't want to deal with my own RAID failures.

Ioflood might offer you a deal if you reach out if you want something on the east then maybe qps

  • I used a storage box from HostBrr in the US. Performance wasn't amazing, but it was good enough.

Do they offer some raid protection? The production listing does not mention anything

  • They use RAID-6

They are too expensive for my needs :P

    I'd prefer something more isolated.

@imok Hi! I have a server in Vint Hill. It's running Fedora Rawhide. Right now it's checking the RAID 1 synchronization between the two 4 TB HDDs. It will take another couple of hours to finish checking. Here's the current status just now as I am writing this:

    [rawhide@vh ~]$ date
    Thu Oct 8 02:14:58 AM UTC 2026
    [rawhide@vh ~]$ cat /proc/mdstat
    Personalities : [raid1]
    md2 : active raid1 sda2[0] sdb2[1]
          1046528 blocks super 1.2 [2/2] [UU]
          bitmap: 0/1 pages [0KB], 65536KB chunk

    md3 : active raid1 sdb3[1] sda3[0]
          3888533504 blocks super 1.2 [2/2] [UU]
          [===========>.........]  check = 59.6% (2319036608/3888533504) finish=154.3min speed=169495K/sec
          bitmap: 1/29 pages [4KB], 65536KB chunk

    md1 : active raid1 sdb1[1] sda1[0]
          523200 blocks [2/2] [UU]
          bitmap: 0/1 pages [0KB], 65536KB chunk

    unused devices: <none>
    [rawhide@vh ~]$

If there aren't any problems after the check finishes, you are welcome to use it if you want to pay a little for fair use. Probably I will put up an ad tomorrow or soon. . . .

Not in US. But if Montreal is okay, there's servarica with affordable pricing

    https://clients.servarica.com/store/bf-2025-big-storage

Stock is usually replenished every black friday.

    Thanks Mr. Not Oles 😄

I’ll be storing personal files, so sharing the server isn’t an option this time

Maybe have a look next month. They've been restocking on Black Friday for the past few years.

  • Maybe ZFS Backup Storage from microtronix dc? 🤔 it is similar to hetzner storage box and is in US.

If you are OK with annual payments, you can also get it slightly cheaper using one of their offer links e.g. https://www.rsync.net/signup/order.html?code=experts

They used to have a double storage one, but I think it expired.

  • +1, used them in the past and never had any issues. They also have DA storage hosting, which I've never tried but I've been satisfied w/ their VPS and dedicated servers in the past that I'd trust them.

    hostbrr?
or Cloudflare R2 if data is valuable and expensive
