I don't really know why, but I really like the idea of having a TierHive node in Turku, but the hardware is pretty damn good you offer (so naturally expensive) dont you have any strange odd servers you can let go a bit cheaper, like it can never be upgraded because of X or the IPMI is a pain in the ass to use or xyz reason, thats perfect for someone who does not need help to cope with it. if so, take my pennies :)

Strange request I know, but it's amazing how many dedi providers have "those servers" that they don't want to spend the time deracking but don't want to sell because the customer is not likely to cope because of a strange issue.... and I am the perfect customer for those :)

Yes I know that feeling, you mean those R220's that are now obsolete, IDRAC 6-7, Java crap especially R210II ;D with IDRAC6, what a horrible feeling, I actually had to setup a small VM where I installed an older JAVA on and edited the java.security to disable the checks so I could run those IDRAC6's, Right now in Turku we don't have anything in particular, we've mostly been in Hetzner and Zurich but with our latest addition in Turku which is our primary over Hetzner, the idea will be eventually to offer some dedicated servers there, currently only VPS. I will put this however behind the ear, when or if procure some old (discount) hardware or upgrade current hardware as time passes, Ill float you a line in PM if that ever comes up =)..

You can find all sorts of discounts floating in VPS category on LES, along with our billing-cycle discounts baked in for our VPS.

Yeah, that sort of thing, i actually got so sick of jumping through the hoops I had claude start a little project called "IPMIHell" combined with IcedTea, and so far... I have been able to launch pretty much anything fairly trouble-free without any more hoops!

That sounds like a good idea, I've seen Icedtea when on Supermicro, Dell's IDRAC6 is atrocious, I mean it is the definition of death, IPMIHell sounds like a nice idea to avoid all this, but the java.security Java # I did was pre-AI, the IDRAC6 was starting to be annoying before AI became popular, latest Java wont even entertain IDRAC6, not even if you were to add it to the exclusion criteria in Java Configure, it has to do with the Ciphers in the security config. Not to mention, IDRAC6 is just bad, the interface its just bad, now IDRAC9 is nice, not sure if gold standard but high standard imo.
