Distrobox: Use any Linux distribution inside your terminal | Hacker News

I glanced at this last night. I haven't read much of it, and I haven't tried it. I never heard of it, or its antecedent mentioned in the README.md file.
Could this, or something else like it, be the basis of a super fast, distro agnostic, shared server?
Thanks! Friendly greetings! ![]()
I hope everyone gets the servers they want!

I think distrobox is like lxc, except it doesn't require the root permission and it's easier to communicate with the apps/files/etc inside the container.
Distrobox runs a docker container with the said distro and transfers your terminal to inside the container on command. It is a good way to test out various linux features.
