Network Infrastructure Upgrades At HostSlick

We want to inform you of some recent changes in our network infrastructure that may have impacted your services. In May 2023, one of our key upstream providers, GLOBE Datacenter, unfortunately ceased operations. This was a significant loss as it was a major transit provider with connections to Tier1 networks like Liberty Global, Hurricane Electric, Level3, Cogent, Arelion, Orange, and more. A very premium network with 5Tbit capacity.

Following this development, we had been relying solely on Combhaton/Aurologic as our main transit provider, which also offered DDoS protection. However, it came to our attention that this setup was not flawless, as some of you experienced increased ping/latency and rate-limiting affecting your operations.

At HostSlick, we are committed to providing you with the best service possible, and this situation was not ideal for us. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that we took action to enhance our network. Just two days ago, we activated Gcore Labs S.A, Liberty Global, and Hurricane as new upstream providers. We had been preparing for this transition during our last maintenance on August 16, 2023.

Both Liberty Global and Gcore Labs are esteemed transit providers. Gcore Labs, in particular, is known for its streaming-optimized CDN network with numerous Points of Presence (POPs) worldwide and robust DDoS protection, similar to what you experienced with our previous CDN77/Datacamp transit.

In recent days, we have observed a slight improvement in latency across the globe, and we wanted to keep you informed about these positive developments. With HostSlick e.
