What's the most secure way to buy a domain to a stranger?
I'm thinking about buying a domain for around $1k. I could get a beautiful and new motorcycle with that amount of money. Or a Ryzen server. But it's a .com
So the first thing I see in the website is a contact link with an email address, looks like a mailbox given by the internet provider of the owner. It claims to be a company, but looks like a guy dedicated to buy/sell premium domains.
How would you do it? What's the best way to buy the domain without getting scammed? I'm really interested in the domain.

I genuinely cannot imagine a domain being $1k-worth of interesting, even if you manage to dodge being scammed...
$1000 + Stranger?
= Escrow
This is a low-end community. $1000 for a domain is a lot. Maybe you could focus on other top level domains (instead of .com). Technology constantly evolves while having so many words in the dictionaries; it would be sad to remain stuck in a lingering past dominated by old TLDs.
Back on topic: Escrow (as mentioned by DP).

Give him a photo of Mexicans if he scam you. Plata o plomo
On a serious note. 1000 euros is lot of money for any domain. Better buy a moto.......
On a serious note. Show him @bikegremlin . He knows serbians who are making mexicans amateurish. Use code @Kalashnikov2024Chievo @ Affiliate link to obtain your promo price
I believe in good luck. Harder that I work ,luckier i get.

Current price is actually $6000 but I was considering offering $1000.
After reading this thread I ended offering $400 LOL.
How did you offer the money?
How does escrow operate in a case where after the buyer successfully receives the domain name he refuses to release the money in escrow to the seller?
Probably a wallet, not big enough for a suitcase

Buyer pays Escrow.
Escrow will be the one "paying" the seller, once the domain has been transferred.

This is some of what my terminal spit out:
I hope you find it useful.
@imok Two days, no new news. I guess you didn't receive a reply? Thanks!
I hope everyone gets the servers they want!
That's right. No reply from seller
But that's good. I'm not spending money.
Did you at least specify the domain name in the email? These people tend to have multiple domains to squat on.

I did.
He didn't pass the Cessna flight training. I've heard he's @AuroraZero sex slave now.
You're probably the only person who offered to buy his junk domain, but he is greedy. Or still haven't noticed the mail.
Shhh or you are next!!!

Got a reply. He kindly said no. $5k is the minimum.
I'm just going to get another extension.
why not use the money and pay for FrankZ ransom -- @AuroraZero can negotiate how much if you send flowers first.
What prices does FrankZ charge?

Have a look at quite a typical dan.com domain cost:
Note that lease price is per month, not per year.
Be sure to check the inbox you used for that from time to time. Two-three years later he is likely to get back to you offering something like $500.
