Yeah the most annoying part of course is how WHMCS is incapable of just rejecting the coupon and instead opting to make it look like it glitched out. Then it counts toward the total.
I can't believe they actually charge as much as they do for it now. We're definitely going to add Rocky, I hate pretty much every company we utilize and they're all related in a weird way or just bought out by the same venture capitalists. They bought pretty much every single piece of software we use and made it so much worse. Our monitoring system's just always glitching out because they apparently can't use monitoring services on their monitoring services, WHM barely functions, SolusVM just introduces updates that break something new, and pretty much the last series of like 20 updates WHMCS released was all just trying to stuff their SSLs and Weebly and whatever else, and completely destroying any of the very little reliability it had. Alma's definitely toast in a few years. They genuinely are amazing at making no improvements though. Feels nostalgic as if you're using the same exact piece of 15 year old janky PHP software.
Can't wait to actually do what someone suggested earlier and just replace it all with our own even jankier PHP software. But then at least it'll be our janky PHP software and it won't cost thousands a month.

I made the saddest little sandwich right before doing these deals. I might go spend 20 minutes at some point and do it properly, right after some coffee. I need to start baking my own bread. And make my own pickles. Maybe raise some chicken. I guess at that point I really should finishing shoveling the garden and get that started as well.

I went to the supermarket in Amsterdam to get some beef to make stew, and I walked around over and over looking for it. Turns out the entire store had half a freezer of meat, smaller than my freezer at home, and the only beef they had was for shawarma. They had like 2 or 3 of them. It was really weird next to the 16 shelves of all the different types of bread you could imagine taking up like 1/5th of the floor space.
Something like 68 euros later, I made some stew and dessert for 4 people.

I have a photo somewhere, I got so excited how cheap everything was compared to Los Angeles, I had almost forgotten. I spent $110 and got 5 or 6 pounds of ground beef, several chickens worth of thighs, 1 pound of mozzarella cheese, 2 pounds of cheap steak, another 3 pounds of maybe cheap sirloin or ribye, a few pounds of beef ribs, hamburger buns, hot dog buns, "fancy" bread (as far as american bread goes), an eight or sixteenth of a block of parmesan cheese, 2-3 pounds of cold cuts, onions, tomatoes, 18 count eggs, marinara sauce, peppers, half a gallon of whipping cream, lettuce, potatoes. Oh and then small block of sliced cheese.
I don't know how the math works on that or if that was all, but I know in Los Angeles that would probably cost $200-300. It's still a lot more expensive than it used to cost last time I visited, probably 50% more.
There's just a few things that are still just as expensive here though, it's just a little weird knowing I can technically save money by only eating beef, but I guess I'm not complaining.
I have a friend that lives in Eastern Europe and their prices went up so much it's pretty much the same or higher than here now as well.

They're still insanely cheap. I used to have a few houses I bought and sold for around $40,000 each that are probably $160,000 each now. Yep, looked one of them up, it's $177,000 now and I sold it for $40,000 in 2016.
That'd be for around 1500 square feet on 1/3rd of an acre. One of the nicer built brick ones.

Oh I just want to add this random thought I had, building materials are insanely overpriced now. I went to go patch some drywall and first of all you can just crumble it between your fingers now, they figured out how to put air into it to save money, it kind of looks like nougat. And it costs like 2-3x more than I remember it.

I've been eyeing a piece of land that's in a good neighborhood, it's sandwiched between two rows of like 16 to 32 houses. Of course I can't really afford it right now but it's so worth it. Probably was like $170,000? Would be a really cool ranch. I remembered because it also was sold for something like that around the 1980's and it's from an estate sale it seems. So someone just held onto it all this time while they built a neighborhood around it.
