How many promo codes did he put out? I just remember the other one I used.

  • I put in a ticket, I was indeed happy!

    may you find better heaven.

They’re still in business and thriving. Just dropping the bad plan that brought in bad eggs the way I see it. They’re super affordable even without discount. I am very happy with @crunchbits service in general and find prices unbeatable. I refer clients and others to their site all the time and folks get skeptical because it’s a steal compared to the major cloud providers.

I’m ripping up your post in protest. Humorously.

If I recall, that was only ever used on a VDS service. Not affected. Idea is to improve the rest of the lineup (directly and indirectly) but needed to take a moment to clean up the shed. This is only the [PROMO] tagged stuff, and for real users it's not even going away if they wish to keep it . I just can't emphasize enough that it had become so insanely popular outside of our target groups that we'd have to deploy 250+ units at a time for 3-5 of you to be able to snag one here/OGF. Adding forced email verification, banning as many trouble-making IP ranges as we could find, slowly tightening everything up had (at best) marginal temporary improvements and would be circumvented eventually.

Every single other product did not have this issue at all. It's just the way things are now, and while I'd love to provide some more insane deals we really need to step back and find a method that keeps it where I'd want it to stay but doesn't also create a massive manual workload. That, and let the dust settle and people to calm down and realize their plans weren't cancelled, but upgraded.

Never lost hope. Poster still proudly hanging in datacenter where all the younger guys continually ask "hey, uhh.. who is that? why is he hanging on a server cabinet?"

I have lots of <3 to give. So I believe it's fine to <3 more than one.

    Thanked by (1)_MS_
  • I believe there are already a lot of tickets open, so I think I'll wait a bit before opening one. However, since many VPSs are likely to expire around August 2025, resulting in a surge of tickets, it’s probably better to open one before that, right?

Yeah go ahead, sooner is always better. We knew the surge was coming, already sent a pallet of frozen pizza and dr pepper to @skorupion

Thanks, I've opened a ticket (but I won't post the ticket number here because it's not cool).

    Thanked by (1)FrankZ
  • I also opened up a ticket and can very gladly report that they did not disappoint with their transition plan and will happily continue using this and the other services we have had. That pallet of frozen pizza and Dr. Pepper was definitely worth it. Thank you for the great service!

  • Hi @crunchbits - I really appreciate the promo you gave me last year, I waited patiently for it in the Discord room. Hopefully you can offer me something to sweeten this year's black friday mood a little. Thanks

It's the simple low end launch strategy.

    1. Offer an unsustainable deal and cram as many users as you can onto your limited nodes.

    2. Add more nodes from the overselling activity and or a few rented IP blocks.

    3. Retain customers willing to pay a premium and run the churn machine all over again.

Disagree. I never use those providers long term - most of them end up deadpooling us. They are also usually pretty bad providers, I do not see those ones advertising on this forum.

It is the holiday season, they also have a large backlog of tickets. I also submitted my ticket today based on feedback I got so I expect them to get back to me probably next week honestly. They will get back to you way before me.

It does not seem like a pump and dump to me.
Below is one row of racks in their WA DC.
Seldomly do pump and dump operations have this many racks, or such top notch personnel.
    Just saying.
