They were removed to avoid confusion. The offer was modified after discussion with the provider to comply with the rules for Free Offers and Stuff posted by providers without a provider tag. In effect this is a new free offer.

Thank you for your participation. We will begin evaluating users based on our rules and credibility. The deployment process will start soon.

  • I'm curious. What will you do with such server for 45 days? Other than idling.

Thank you for your question! During the 45-day period, you can fully utilize the VPS for various productive tasks such as:

Application Testing: Develop and test new applications or software in a controlled environment.
Backup Storage: Use it for secure data backups or file storage.
Development & Staging: Set up development or staging environments for web or software projects.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize system performance.
Lightweight Hosting: Host smaller websites, databases, or services that don't require heavy resources.

The server is yours to use as you see fit, and we’re excited to see how you’ll make the most of it!

  • !!Deployment Update!!

Here is the YABS (ran it yesterday, got back to laptop a little while back). I think the OS is some Redhat / rpm based.. (Alma/ Rocky?) Stock OS by the provided when VPS "keys" were handed over to me.**

Might run another set of tests once I install Debian.

Edit: Added the following Notes with initial impressions :
    1. Currently not possible to mount iso / other than AlmaLinux, no other OS option possible. @dedicatedcore can the iso mounting option be enabled/ ticket to that effect ?

    1. Virtfusion License- Noncommercial use.. Okay for trial period- hope for production servers this will be addressed

    2. Closest comparative "Stock" plan I see on their website is VPS-EX4 (CPU Cores and RAM, 80 GB ie smaller disk) for US $ 16.99/month. I saw some discussion on pricing -(or lack thereof) considering this is a "free" VPS for 45 44 days...
Lets wait a while, kick the tires a bit more, before commenting any further.

    3. Leapswitch Network - Panvel (Navi Mumbai location, not BOM but close to the new airport - code NMI...as a recent discussion around datacenters in New York area taught us, location needs to be mentioned clearly :-))

    4. What can I expect from this VPS for the coming days? More importantly, what is the provider expecting from testers? time will tell. For me personally Debian would have been the preferred choice. But hey, it's still Linux, though with a different learning path. Time will tell what I get out of it.

    5. Makes me reflect on the days of yore (2019/20) when I and a few other folk used to run tests on VPS - from OGF Poisson is a name I recall...this was the pre-YABS era. Then came LES, YABS and Benchmark King on LES, and a counterpart on OGF... jsg with his "superior" benchmarking script that may or may not have been open source. He used it to effectively prove that 7 out of 9 VPS of a cetrain perfume seller from Romania were reachable...

    6. Now with NWS and YABS, will 300 GB bandwidth be enough (about 10 percent already used) ? Time will tell.

    Cheers and thanks again

  • We are excited to have you be a part of our first-ever VPS giveaway! We’d like to take a moment to share some important details and clarify the purpose of this offer.

The 10 free VPS we are giving away are designed with one goal in mind: to support you, our dedicated community members. This giveaway is meant to help you with your testing and development purposes, and it's our way of contributing to your ongoing work. We are not offering this as a long-term hosting solution but rather as a way to give back and build a stronger relationship with the LES community.

We understand that flexibility is important, which is why we provide you with a control panel to easily choose and change the Alma OS on your VPS, allowing you to set up your server with the OS of your choice.

If you notice any "last login failed" messages, there's no need to worry! This might be due to incorrect password attempts and doesn't reflect an actual issue with your account. We conduct thorough checks before delivery, so this is simply a result of previous login attempts.

Our goal is to help you, and we don’t wish to compare our services with others. We don't have hosting provider tag yet so we are not able to post any offer and pricing details. Our main aim is to support the community in your testing and development efforts.

Lastly, I want to sincerely thank everyone who participated in this giveaway. Your involvement has made this DedicatedCore first giveaway a success, and we are truly grateful for your support.

Thank you again, and we look forward to continuing to serve you!

  • Hello Team,

The current offer will expire in 3 days, after which your VPS will be automatically terminated. Please ensure you back up your data before the deadline.

If you need an extension, please open a support ticket, and I can arrange a 10-day extension on your VPS.

  • Hello, I've offloaded my system, thank you for the great giveaway.

I managed to learn a lot about rclone and Docker on it, stuff I couldn't do on my other VPSes due to the lack of resources.
    Congratulations on your provider tag!
