Agreed on both counts, but b) is worded more like a threat than a genuine offer imo.

That's one certain one possible interpretation of it. Not the one I took but I can see how you might.

Thank you for your summary and move the thread to OFF TOPICS, good forum management. Also, thank you for reminding me about the refund. I will request to get a refund.

Treasure this place, it's your last stronghold after being kicked out of LET. @VirMach

"kicked out of LET"? Wasn't he in their Black Friday thread a few days ago ........ ?

I suspect that is thanks to @FAT32 including them in the BF/CM thread; I don't believe @VirMach has actually been active on LET for some time (not that I think they were kicked off, just looks like they stopped visiting which is perfectly reasonable).

There is an open Complaint thread in the general category. If you prefer I can merge this into that thread so it is not in "Rants".

Yeah, I was mainly pointing out they never got kicked out as observed by them being in the thread. Totally true that LET got really hostile at multiple levels ( users, management ) so they just stopped going there though.

He isn't active on LET for any longer but we are still in contact through other social platforms, and given that Jon has granted VirMach a non-expiry Patron Provider tag (until he returns) so technically he is still a provider on LET and by the rule I can still include their offer.

食之无味 弃之可惜 - Too arduous to relish, too wasteful to discard.

  • @VirMach can you enable cancellation of service immediately, I would like to get rid of the low resource services I have and still need to wait about a year from last years BF, plus it will return some IP addresses :)

  • In my opinion, c1vhosting is more affordable and stable than vir, thus I've deprecated vir since early 2022. The two providers share some similarities like low price and constant maintenance or migration, but C1V is polite when communicating, while vir rudely demands money to reply the ticket and ....

Anyway, thank you for sharing the experience.

MicroLXC is lovable. Uptime of C1V

-Get e-mail/ticket about migration from JP, ignore it.
    -Open a ticket.
    -Ticket rejected/closed.
-Open new ticket about why ticket was rejected/close.
    -Re-open the rejected ticket.

Be shocked that provider don't really like people opening multiply tickets after being clearly told what is the timeline and how it works.

Here's our philosophy on almost everything.

We can make exceptions and try to be fair, but at some point in certain situations, it may have to be addressed. In this case, addressing it was optional and the customer invoked it per the original notice.

Agreed on both counts, but b) is worded more like a threat than a genuine offer imo.

This isn't the first time we've had to do something like this in batches, and based on our previous experience, we know that almost any ticket that involves a change for this particular location (Tokyo) for a particular subset of customers (those also breaking our terms of service) it doesn't exactly go too great.

These messages were sent in bulk, and it also included some people who have not broken our terms of service. We wanted to give those people a chance to appeal the decision, but we wanted to make sure those who have broken our terms of service understood they're not eligible. If it's not worded strongly, they'll ignore it and request to appeal the decision, something which was not offered to them. Even if it's strongly worded, as is in this case, they'll still often do it, which is fine, but that's why they received that second response. It was originally rejected without them being added to a queue for account closure, until they really insisted they wanted it addressed in which case I followed through with exactly what was stated would happen in this scenario.

If LEB/LET is ever sold, you should definitely notify me as I'll probably be back within 24 hours. Right after they remove their weird speculative hit pieces on us though. Every time I read them back they seem more ridiculous, it's like DPRK level propaganda.

Our recipe for success was simple, just use brand #1 and brand #2 owned by JB. And that's not an oversimplification apparently.

@VirMach I hope I get moved to San Jose instead of Los Angeles. Too many in Los Angles and nothing left in San Jose.

I also hope to move to San Jose.

Didn't happen. VM was migrated to Los Angeles just like everybody else.

This is very sad. By the time it expires, I might be released. For me, Los Angeles might not even be as good as Phoenix.

I don't even know where to start with this one, it's not like my response would change anyone's mind. I guess you can say anything and make it appear however you want based on your personal feelings about it.

It's definitely beyond stretching the truth to look at this case and go "this can happen to anyone, including me." Sure, if you check off several boxes, and then specifically respond asking us to make an exception which is clearly labeled as having us look into very specific breaches of our terms of service since the migration is related to that problem.

I'm on CHIZ030, but looks like we are almost next-door neighbors. We could be in the same rack or very close to each other. I was wondering about this in the other thread as well and sounds like it is more common problem and not just isolated to me either. It is comforting to hear that others have similar experiences. Hopefully they can address the problems soon.

I talked about our smaller locations and a quick analysis of what I liked and didn't like about them. For Chicago, I'm pretty sure I listed something along the lines of "the network" being poorly managed on QN's end.

I saw your messages and also noticed a potential issue, but I've been trying to see if it gets better or worse on its own. I didn't want to contact them as I'm afraid it could result in a bigger problem based on previous experiences but I've gone ahead and contacted them now, let's see what happens.

  • Really interesting to see the difference in tone and style of response for @toxicmagiska 's ticket and mine since we're basically in the same spot (albeit he has multiple accounts) of not responding to the migration e-mail in time.
Also interesting to see that they went as far as an account audit and response for him while my response from @VirMach tech support when requesting an appeal was basically "no u". Better than being told I'm breaking the TOS, but not by much.
Still really don't have a need for an LA server since I already have a storage server in LA with Virmach and there's no free internal networking (afaik) so having a second node for compute there doesn't really work.

Consider yourself fortunate... I got a transfer from a user for a provider called 'Silvercreek/Terabit" over at LET... The service never worked and they kept responding to my tickets saying "it's working". To make a long story short, I went on their Discord channel and called their tech retarded, but I put up a pretty good fight on my LET thread and people will see who they are if they're smart enough to search before ordering their services...

Virmach has been good to me, yet for some reason, they have no shills or fanboys like some other disreputable providers over at LET.
