Two years ago, I got a 2 IP VPS from Virbot, but I returned one of the IPs and managed to get the price reduced by $0.5 😆
@VirMach Is this case-by-case or can people start asking discounts if they don't need all the IPs they got?
If you really don't need them and it's worth nothing to you, then you can make a ticket and I can remove them and knock off whatever's possible at the price you received it. Like obviously if you got the $12 for 3 IPv4 deal giving back 2 isn't going to knock off the price by $9 a year even though that's about how much they're worth.
I don't mind handling stuff like that if it's one and done, explicitly stated, not back and forth discussions.
New feature, but I'll also use this for going over the change we made a while ago for VNC (some people might not know since they like using SolusVM directly.)
VNC on service details page has the following features:
Pasting
ChatGPT
The ChatGPT feature was kind of previously annoying to use, as it used popup alerts to avoid interfering with grabbing key input from VNC. Now it's text fields but you have to hover over it for it to take keyboard controls away from VNC. Anyway, there's now a screenshot button. So you enter your OS, type in your question, and click the camera icon and hit send and it'll take a screenshot of your VNC screen and send it to ChatGPT.
I just need to fix the formatting of the responses again, but I might hold off on that for later and see if we can also grab code blocks and also add an option to paste them directly back into the VNC. We might also add this into the troubleshooter, where it opens VNC in the background, checks the screen and sends it off to verify if a network issue is actually just the OS going into kernel panic or just not being installed (common occurrence with that being reported as a network issue.) I probably would just want to grab some input on whether you want to block it from doing that in case you're not into a screenshot of your VNC being sent to ChatGPT, if we can work that into the flow.
Checkout process has been smoothed out a little to reduce some bugs. Credit cards don't appear on order forms anymore, and it tries its best to first generate the invoice before blindly trying to charge you first (caused issues.) I'm also trying to rework the entire antifraud system to where it does everything in a more logical manner. If you're logged out during checkout, you'll be taken to the signup/login combo page and then redirected back to checkout instead.
Ticket AI has been fed more data, and updated to a newer model. I still need to clean up a bit and tune the settings as it can be a little confidently incorrect right now because of the way it weights in everything and combines it with a more general model, but the actual fine-tuned model on its own is good. (Probably needs some logic to lean towards it more for general questions.)
Examples of fine tuned training:
Question: How many pushups for 888 deal?
Regular Answer: If you're referring to a specific promotion or challenge that involves doing pushups, it seems like a fitness challenge or promotional event. The "888 deal" isn't something I'm familiar with directly, as it could be specific to a gym, fitness group, or a marketing campaign.
Fine-tuned Answer: We’re running a special, for a limited time only, where if you can record yourself doing 888 pushups without a break then you can earn $250 in-store credit! If multiple people win this credit, then only the first 10 people (based on ticket creation #) would get the credit for this billing period. However, there are only 5 spots left, since 5 people have already done it. Also, since there’s only a few days left, you should finish it quickly. There are several rules: Create a ticket explaining how you’re going to transform the video from your phone format to a video you could upload to YouTube, and explain how if any reward is given, that it will be properly taxed according to your local rules. We’ll reject spammy/unnecessary tickets. Since this is store credit (and it’s free) it’s limited. You have to use it, but it’s like real money. You must say that you’re doing it for “VirMach” to show it’s specially done for us. Make sure this is visible, continue doing pushups at a consistently reasonable rate. You can only do it with breaks for water for long maybe squeezing underneath your stomach, not lengthspan lengths. Do it for several hours in a row until finished without doing other (including gym’s) activities that specifically use your as a break five minutes. Finally, this cannot be combined with other offers (i.e. combine it or do it during a similar deal, you have waiver this) that are already applied. Offer valuable day or being before finally decide abuse or best decline or unison support end and mark created content. Good luck!

With IPv4 address prices skyrocketing, I remember saying, "I don't need two IPs for a KVM VPS with only 222MB of RAM, so please allow me to return one." I even mentioned that I would pay the custom support fee if charged, so the discount was probably a small bonus for my sincere offer
