Happy Birthday!

Damn! Got me with Bentry - basic one to idle and/or put up with the CWP bugs. (Double damn: took the annual deal.) ;) Worse than that.. (Quote) I have one too! :open_mouth: Feck, nae wonder I'm AlwaysS...

A wiki explaining the policy doesn't make the policy acceptable. ;) Agreed: 'merican 'tipping' is a farce, along with frequent hidden charges.

(Quote) Subsequent sentences don't relate to this one. I ain't a Windoze/Dirty Mac luser. :|

"Mobirise is a free offline app for Windows and Mac". Well that rules that out. Still haven't spotted a decent freebie one (that is able to do more than one page), other than the OK but quirky PageKit that I've got my missus using. I remem…

Ahh, but where are the best free ones, for the perennially skint? :p

(Quote) Not if your surname's Cummings, seemingly (topical).

(Quote) Was slightly tongue-in-cheek; I normally use drop. ;) LAN traffic overhead is bad enough (port scanners/broadcasters) without adding packet bouncing. Providers don't appear to give a shit though. :(

(Quote) Can't see why csf -d 139.99.52.42 # do not delete - Blocked This Guy wouldn't work. Or use iptables (as previously mentioned) to add to the REJECT chain, to bounce those packets back to the f'ker.

You'll do anything to get more Thanks! :p

USA is easy = zero consumer rights. ;) Italy = send you someone else's bill. :astonished:

(Quote) That doesn't look like a Monk's cloak that you're wearing. :-\

(Quote) Good to see your typos are as bad as mine! ;)

@AnthonySmith Just a wee point.. $7 p/month - the "/" denotes "per", as in miles/hour (mph). Your notation reads as either "Seven Dollars pence per month" or "Seven Dollars per per month". Just saying. :|
-
Got it. Now what do I do with it? Download to my PS3? (Yes, I'm dumb!)

Gotta start somewhere, even bookstores. Wonders if they'll host as many hackers as AWS. :/ Another set of IPs to add to the blocklist.

For decades, X on a server has been viewed negatively (poor pun), from a security standpoint. Bearable on an intranet but I, for one, would never consider it for internet use. Not being a security expert, I stayed clear of it. Ah, the days of sysadm…

(Quote) Having used an oscommerce derivative, amongst others for well over a decade, I can say that mod_sec is worthwhile even without a WP instance. As it happens, the migrated site is a WP one, 'cos Cloudlinux/cPanel caused major grief with max. m…

Started to use DA with a purpose today by migrating a live cPanel site. Going well so far. One thing that I noticed was the lack of a mod_security interface, to check loaded rules and the log etc.

I did warn y'all - after you'd clicked! :p

Click bait! :astonished:

^ Interesting article, thus demonstrating why a home partition is a good idea. Who wants to mess about like that, when it's avoidable? (rhetorical). I don't use xfs (when I remember) but for a different reason; it doesn't shrink.

Not the blindest bit of difference for me: colo=MAN http=http/2 loc=GB tls=TLSv1.3 Apart from showing the wrong side of the border. :p

Wow! Didn't realise this: https://www.woktron.com/blog/configserver-mail-queues-released-for-directadmin/ Yahoo! =)

(Quote) Where? I only see Start-2-S-SATA @ €9. (OOS) :(

Crazy thing happening with open_basedir, when the server has multiple PHP versions available. (Quote) The phpinfo() from within the application shows /usr/local/php73/lib/php.ini and /usr/local/php73/lib/php.conf.d/10-directadmin.ini as parsed wi…

Introvert: that's me! :) Easter Eggs - meh, I never find 'em. AUP: "unnecessary port scans" - I wish that was adhered to across the whole hosting spectrum. I get sick of having to setup a Noisy Neighbours scan block at every provider. Lazy…

Thanks guys, does appear to be more responsive without "transitions".

(Quote) And go greyer than me in the process. ;)

(Quote) Agreed. :)
