(Quote) I figured there might be a way. If not, that is fine. Not expecting this for free of course.
-
@FatGrizzly, what would it take for me to get a VM in each of your locations (donation wise). I want to trial out a service and need access to a lot of different regions.
-
Any idea why IPs in SJC appear as coming from IRAN? 91.186.21x.xxx
-
I kinda wish I could combine my VMs I got.
-
I don't think SJC is having a good time at the moment.
-
Weird! Maybe too many people putting in tunnels, so rate limited?
-
Im wondering if maybe someone has a tunnel on the same IP under a different account.
-
(Quote) Negative Captain, none worked.
-
141.11.93.xxx
-
Yep, tried again and got This network is restricted
-
Anyone got tunnelbroker working in LAX? I tired, and I am being told the network is not allowed. Seems like a limit based on the DC?
-
We have the great wall of NY Metro.
-
(Quote) Hmmm... I do see the $5 charge, maybe it did go through. Where can I check for the order, I don't see it in my "invoices."
-
(Quote) I think I jinxed myself XD Not looking like I processed the order correctly or in time.
-
chuckles I got a $5 Amsterdam!
-
@VirMach PUSH THE BUTTON
-
Could run an entire proxmox node on this one. $169/yearRAM 20480MBCPU 6 CoreHDD 1000GBBANDWIDTH 51200GBIPs 1 IPv4Chicago
-
(Quote) Something even remotely like this in SJC/LAX would be amazing, though I doubt we can get that many IPs here.
-
@VirMach, just wanted to toss you some kudos. Snagged a VM in SJC and it is working wonderfully!
-
Two Questions: * Is VirMach American based? * SJC location, does it have IPv6?
-
One thought I have is that the host node is overcommitted. Unsure if NixOS can show you steal time. Try reboot as well.
-
(Quote) dumb question on my part... why do you want to do this? Have you looked into the ramifications of hosting such?
-
(Quote) Awesome, thank you! I shot a message to my provider to ask.
-
(Quote) Does the provider need to support this? What is the advantage over VXLAN? Reading this suggests I need to verify the provider supports QinQ. https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.html#pvesdn_tech_and_config_overview

I think this might do what I am looking for, honestly just looking for clarification on all of it and best practices. Which are hard to find at the moment. https://mattglass-it.com/software-defined-network-proxmox/
-
(Quote) Seeing this too! Is this a recurring 49.99 deal?
-
(Quote) Or even better, a DNS entry.
-
(Quote) Thank you! This fixed it!
-
(Quote) I figured as much, but was hoping for a solution. Everything i have found suggests the IP sees it is in USA.
-
(Quote) Negative Captain, this doesn't seem to help at all. I go to the correct TLD when I am not on the VPN.
-
(Quote) Do you have any linking to the find the latest file, or just a manual process each time? i.e. http://example.com/rdns-latest -> rdns_03_2023
-
(Quote) Thank you Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. Is this something you created?
-
(Quote) Nice domain by the way.
-
Definitely only after ipv4 only in this case. It should be dooable.
-
(Quote) Yep, another reason I'd hope for a database. I am not asking for anything real time, just updated somewhat often. One option I have found so far: https://opendata.rapid7.com/sonar.rdns_v2/
-
(Quote) I know these exist. It's not an impossibility. (Quote) I concur, sadly the other option isn't really viable as it will cause lookup times that are significantly higher than I want.
-
Could host some open source services with those as well. Syncthing always needs relays.
-
(Quote) Not truthfully, I actually was going to write the same thing as you did. However, many of us are also I.T. professionals. So, figured some of us would have actually run into it.
