(Quote) @cmeerw Okay with you? I'm presuming you already know @babywhale as a dedicated member of the FreeVPS.org volunteer staff and also as the author of bashvm. If yes, maybe you could please just go ahead and make a sudo account for @babywhale? …

A while back one of my lovliest providers got hit by a disaster which seemed pretty clearly not of their own making -- the exact same disaster could have hit almost any provider. They offered compensation, but I declined. Similarly, to me, it seems …

Haha, I enthusiastically ran etcupdate! After that, the server only booted single user, no ssh, and with a read only file system. Luckily I could get in via VNC, change the file system to rw, move the broken /etc aside, and untar my /etc-revert.tgz …

Friendly greetings! Please check this thread's OP, especially the How to Apply section. Please consider running something on our Community Server. Originally I had asked for our server to be configured with Debian 12 because I thought that Debian …

(Quote) No, not using atop at the moment. (Quote) I indeed did notice the headline at lobste.rs, but completely missed that the underlying info was based on a post from rachelbythebay. (Quote) Excellent! :star: Thanks for taking quick action! :sta…

(Quote) I grabbed a CPX-11 (same as what LES ifs using), posted a yabs, and tried a couple of new installs (not upgrades) from the https://github.com/vanilla/vanilla repository. Both the git clone and the OSS Release 2025.003 file archive seem to l…

Hey @Mason! Thanks for carefully and completely answering my question with your terrific chart! :star: Maybe, going forward, the chart could live in the What the FAQ?! thread? Thanks for everything you do for LES! <3 Tom

It's okay! I'm good! 👍

@somik Thanks for the advice about V2 deprecation as well as the fine view of Times Square, which I well remember! There is another lesser known but still great view of New York City from the observation deck on the roof of the Staten Island Ferry …

How can we understand a little about how LES works? I took a quick look at Advanced PHP localhost development on a Mac for mere mortals (2021?), written by the guy who seems to be @linc on the open.vanillaforums.com website. From this I got the ide…

(Quote) I will ask them first. They always have been nice to me. I would be really surprised if they have issues with anything I have done.
