@nullnothere Will get back to you unless someone else replies before me.

@rpqu I am hopefully introducing a new frontend which shows b/w usage plus max allowed. I don't want to encourage over usage or limit client functionality - I know - don't show it, but I would rather everything is clear and open. There is also the o…

Excellent feedback - thanks everyone. So perhaps something like 40GB / month with a 20GB bimonthly auto boost if a client goes over. So I scale based on an average of 50GB per client per month.

@VirMach Received two emails (for two vps) giving new IPs originally on AMSD018. One Ticket ID shows originally 2 v4 IPs and now only one is allocated (Ticket ID: 163985). Interesting that there are 3 v6 addresses? Just wanted to flag before you get…

Wow - lots of IPs !!! id=722166 AMSD018 > AMSD035 now has 12 ipv4 (sbe 4) . None appear to be working and are in the 'old' ip range i.e. 88.214.21.x id=722545 AMSD018 > AMSD027 moved with 4 new working IPs (should only be 2) plus old ips. Lost…

Looks like things are stuck "Migration queued" - 2 VMs both with multiple IPs on AMSD018. Duplicate emails received (very short notice) about IP change but only gave a single IP. VMs are still running on 'old' ips. Mike

29th of May 2026 NodeSeek VPS clients have had their VMs stopped as per the announcement and emails. If you are affected by this, I can restore your VPS if you are a respected member of this forum or alternatively a respected member can vouch for y…

Declaration - @alexhost are very generous FOSSVPS sponsors of our Moldova mol1 node and we honestly really <3 them. (Quote) We have had the account suspended twice in this period one accidental (my fault) and the second due to client abuse. Th…

(Quote) If a provider is using geoip blocking it may be an issue although I would expect Romania to be pretty neutral.

(Quote) Thanks - you nailed it :) Registrations page is also now 'closed' to certain countries.

@MannDude - thanks for the comments. Yes I am adding maxmind to the registration page. Did look at using ipset but because of proxy use, it proved difficult. There is no billing system - we are free :) Already have reCAPTCHA but I certainly take y…

@terrorgen - agreed (Quote) I am still thinking through the logistics / referral process but feel that it makes being a 'reputable' member of the forum a good reason to participate in the forum. So in a way we are benefitting user, forum and donor…

@TigersWay - thanks, glad things are going well with de1 <3 N.A.S. is a possibility however going forward it is much more likely that stronger pre registration filters will be put in place with potentially country blocks. Another possibility …

Well the good news is the existing (none NS) clients will be getting a much less loaded server - to do compilation !!! Must admit (I know it is free etc etc) abuse really does piss me off. I can't change the world but I can control my own little par…

Not sure I dare say this.... When I order something on Amazon, there is normally a short summary of what the reviews say (also of course star ratings). How about doing something similar for a thread. Also when I look at LES or LET there is no 'style…

Brilliant - great to be back. Mike

As far as I am concerned @AGXL your site and its many options are very good. I have no idea who @GoMaKe is, or your relationship but my advice would be keep going and you have my support (in the PM).

If you are happy with Proxmox, you can login using your vmid and originally assigned password at https://cpanel-de1.fossvps.org/ (make sure realm is set to PVE not linux). You can reboot and use vnc etc. Alternatively send me a PM with node and vmi…

Quick bump to remind everyone that the buc1 server will be terminated on 17th April 2026. Those currently using it have a choice of a migrate to buc2 or a full rebuild on any of our other nodes. Emails have been sent to existing users explaining the…

(Image) Free server for Open Source Developers Hosteroid have kindly donated a fantastic six month server extension in Bucharest (buc2) which we will use to replace our buc1 server (ends 17th April 2026). This is extremely generous and has been …

@TigersWay thanks for the report, I use chrome and have not seen any issue. npm generates its own certs so I will look in to this immediately. Update. Confirmed problem - the certificates should have multiple domains included but only the first is …

@IAmNix Thank you, it is only by comments like this that peoples trust and cynicism will change. I find it amazing that people are happy to pay $7 for a VM from a new provider and potentially have all of their data used. Some even request KYC. We a…

(Quote) Well try understanding your insults can hurt.

(Quote) Agreed it is out of date - full NPM details are included in the VM config email. (Quote) So yes it is purely internal admin.

(Quote) It may 'seem' like whatever, but you are being cynical. It is insulting when we are genuinely providing a free service. I have and never will do anything with the email / name apart from use for admin messages. The purpose of the other ques…
