I checked their site and it says they're out of stock on the 3090. Renting from a provider here (which means they have a link to a community) would be a plus. Hopefully they'll be in stock soon.

(Quote) I think Salad's possible use case (as I see it) is for training and for content and image generation. They have reasonable prices, but it's hourly billing. After two years, it's more reasonable to get a $7000 Mac than to use…

(Quote) This was in Solus. The node name was changed to RYZE.NYC-B028.VMS.

@VirMach is there anyway you can check the status of RYZE.NYC-B001.VMS? I have a VM that is offline, but I don't see anything mentioned about that node...

Holy cow. Shared hosting is UP.

(Quote) From what he's said in the past, there might be a hardware swaps to fix the problems, but probably not any upgrades

So does this mean there might be shared hosting online this weekend?
-
Slightly off topic, how would you throttle a download if it's via http/https to keep it under a certain speed?
-
(Quote) I think @VirMach needs to consider that having fewer staff hampers his productivity in the long wrong. At VirMach's current size, his staff isn't going to be negotiating with data centers for colocation space or purchasing thousan…

(Quote) PayPal definitely knows when you have multiple accounts. I don't know if they treat opening a new account to get around a ban as ToS violation, but PayPal will definitely know something is up. It's not something I'd recommen…

For your PHP position, what timezone are you looking for? Is ET USA okay?

(Quote) NYCB009 has been down for two months. I don't know how long NYCB006 has been down so I can't speak to cold's situation, but, if he or she is contemplating a PayPal dispute, it's unlikely he or she will want to purchase a…

(Quote) I'm wondering if you can provide some backup data for NYCB009? My account renewed, so I still intend to use the service, but at the same time I would appreciate having the access to some of the server data that I didn't have a loc…

@VirMach is there anyway you can extend services for people on NYCB009? I mean, I'm not entirely expecting it to come back but at the same time it's a little frustrating to get hit with an invoice for a service that isn't online :\ …

having server monitoring software post updates to slack is overrated. Having updates posted to les is what's really needed.

This is somewhat off topic I suppose, but I saw you had a location in Northern Idaho. I'm wondering what the justification for a DC in that location is. It just seems like an usual location only near one decently sized city. Is it just that …

it's been about a month for NYCB009 being down. I think at this point it's time to pay our respects. Does anyone care to offer a eulogy?

(Quote) I've been asking myself the same question everyday :(

Shot in the dark, but is there any chance the NYCB009 node has had any progress? I suppose you could do what frantech did a few weeks ago and move everyone from a dedicated IP to a shared IP. That would at least allow it make some economic sense t…

I am wondering if you've managed to debug the RAID issues you were having with the NYCB009SH node. Have there been any updates in that regard?
-
(Quote) Does this mean I should be expecting an extended outage?

NYCB009 has been down for about a day and seems to be on a different IP block. Is there any indication when that node might be restored?
-
Do you still offer the http/https proxy services or is everything through the load balancer service?

Does anyone know if VirMach is fulfilling orders for their quarter promo right now? Or is it something that gets deployed soon (tm) after you order it?

What would you say the limit is for this type of thing 1 per minute, 10 per minute, 100 per minute? In my head, 10 requests per minute (~15,000 requests per day) would be enough to cause some sort of problems for someone but I could be wrongI t. I…

Do you make your ToS available anywhere?

(Quote) So what you're saying is, I should consider Denver when I need some additional capacity somewhere. And, as for the software module, is it an open source tool where a patch can be hacked together and applied for a temp fix or is it some…

(Quote) I looked at one of the guides on your site. I have an old tower with an old AM3+ motherboard installed. I am wondering if you can tell me if It is worth picking up one of the SAS controllers listed on the guide and using the tower base for…

The billing panel seemed to work for me. Message posted yesterday saying they're aware of problems with (Quote) (Just as an aside, am I the only one who thinks it's a little weird when hosting providers use Cloudflare in such a public wa…

I have a cpanel service through the VPShared brand. It is still surviving. Seems weird they would spend the effort to migrate it a few weeks ago to the new node but then give up, given how expensive servers are atm...

As seanho said the price for used sas drives is fairly low. I was looking at ~$25 for 4tb SAS drives. I did actually think about getting a card to use the SAS drives. I think I'd rather buy a used server with a bunch of bays - a local recyc…

Is there a fair use requirement for the $40/yr Ryzen5 systems? If so, can you share what it is?

I didn't mean to make you type all that out. I just remember seeing a post about a server that might have been dropped. I know from my own experience getting chips out of China/Taiwan/HK has been nearly impossible over the past few years. Th…

I haven't been paying super close attention to the thread so I hope I'm not asking something that's already been discussed. Is some of the problem caused by VirMach being unable to get new equipment due to shortages? I.e., VirMach w…

I don't want to pay more than $7 a month for idlers. I've found the offers on LES/LET useful when I need a small box doing very specific tasks. I like knowing I can come here to find a somewhat reliable VPS in a somewhat useful datacente…

I have a whole bunch of images on a local disk which need to be processed before they can be sent to a storage VPS. Is there a "reverse sshfs" which would let a remote cloud server (at vultr or similar, not a $20/yr VPS) access a local da…

My concern with that offer would simply be storage. Realistically, I think I'd need something in the tb range, which is more in line with the storage servers which get advertised. I'm not sure my needs would be compatible with most stora…

Just as a bit of an update, approx 24 hours ago the web server came back online. A welcome change. But the SQL server is still down. Very sad. My experience with VPShared until now wasn't perfect, but generally wasn't something I thoug…
