(Quote) Since OctoDNS, dnscontrol, and the like do it you might have to look harder.

(Quote) Sorry, didn't process the "advertised as 2x1tb" properly. I was referring to regular people getting four drives in their server but for some reason thinking they knew they'd be getting them and wanting them all replaceable. I guess…

Honestly I was using it back in 2012ish on a bunch of 36gig scsi's and it worked fine. Rebuilds weren't instantaneous but weren't problematic either. Just my opinion though.

(Quote) So when I buy things I buy what I need. Would that mean I'd have to do two +$15 one-time setup fees to get all four "official" so they'd get replaced should they die in the future?

(Quote) You buy it, install an operating system, and it tells you.

(Quote) A'ight ... pending some further conversations I'm definitively interested. EDIT: ( not waffling, just "whatever I can find laying around" is a bit vague. ;-) )

(Quote) In which case, that doesn't show any traffic on port 22/tcp which would imply the traffic is never making it there, right? Or were are you running a random port for sshd?

(Quote) Phew ... that sounds exhausting. I work in higher-ed. "Shortly" means a week to a month and "soon" means a month to six months unless it's documented as Real Soon Now in which case it's six month to two years. I couldn't …

(Quote) Sorry if I'm being dim but if you're running that on Node 3 why are you only seeing traffic between Node 1 and Node 2?
-
(Quote) Did you try the tcpdump as mentionedby @cmeerw ? That'll show you if the packets are getting there and then dropped. Since it's ssh specific and other traffic is fine it feels like it has to be firewall.

(Quote) These choices aren't mutually exclusive .... wait, are we talking about me?

(Quote) Do I recall correctly that it also wasn't mentioned that this FTP Storage was web available? People expected a place to dump files and got a place to dump files that you could share unintentionally?

You didn't do yourself any favors continually saying you didn't do anything wrong. Every new excuse just fanned the flames that much more.

(Quote) I like how you make that sound so black and white. Many mistakes were made on both sides.

(Quote) Yeah, it's messy at the moment. I got ~600 up/down notices in the last twenty four hours which had roughly two actual events ( comparing to other monitoring accounts ). I've paused all but one of my monitors at this point to see how this sit…

(Quote) What do mean "potential date for your solution"? The email says the "service may go offline indefinitely" because they can't guess what Hivelocity is going to do. It's entirely probable Hivelocity doesn't know what they'r…
