Couple of things: * counterfactual analysis on my admittedly very stupid IPO purchases and comparing them to a 70/30 split of two index funds to see if I'm better off or not - this was purely vibe coded with requirements documents, specs and s…

huh I didn't know they're back. there's a lot of 1 letter domains available, but i don't really have 1k/y for them
-
reminds me of peet's version https://github.com/pagpeter/TrackMe. tls fingerprinting has been solved for a while, it's more device fingerprinting that is harder to get around.

https://docs.onepound.email/onepoundemail/contigency-and-transparency#payment-schedule probably needs an update (Quote)

Small easter sale happening, only 25% on lifetime VPSes - https://zap-hosting.com/easter-flash-nl020426 the 4 cashbox codes are: piCn2Hs 2o6a37c azWzNVf MFCmtkA

How are their CPU cores - a lot / some steal? I keep forgetting about their sales so I miss all the good deals (please @ me the next time there's a good deal)

Work is Claude via VertexAI + Github CoPilot in whichever IDE / terminal of choice. There's access to all of Anthropic models via VertexAI, but will normally use Sonnet for coding / code understanding, and Haiku for Atlassian (Jira / Confluenc…

It would be interesting to see what does get posted in the $15/y section, even though it would be very quiet.
-
i have a $4.96/y server renewing soon, tempted to renew it even though the network flaps more than a flag in high wind
-
darn, i missed all the 35% off lifetime VPSes, only 25% ones coming up: https://zap-hosting.com/en/blog/2025/11/black-friday-2026-flash-voucher-codes-timetable/

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet - but the Auckland / New Zealand NAT VPS from the pre-handover days of mrVM are being discontinued at the end of the calendar year. It is a pity since it was one of the only lowend NZ VPSes around. (Quo…

Almost instinctively deleted the NAT VPS renewal email lol - showed up as "Billing Department" as the sender

(Quote) I think all of the percentages are displayed here https://zap-hosting.com/en/blog/2023/11/flash-voucher-codes-timetable-2023/

(Quote) Thanks so much for testing! Makes me a lot happier now that I know that I can still find a use for my NZ NAT once it gets downgraded upgraded! Anyways, Zappiehost's NZ LXC containers support openvpn, so hope that it's on the road…

(Quote) Wouldn't mind having one of their NZ VPSes, their LXC containers support openvpn/wireguard and it's nice to have something in NZ
-
Hoping for something from @Zappie
-
(Quote) Does that mean it's no longer possible to set up an OpenVPN / Wireguard server on the LXC containers?

Looks like my service now shows up on natvm. Not so great that my control panel password was given back to me in an email in plain text and also in a support ticket on my account. Time to go into my control panel and change it

(Quote) Looks like RYZE.LAX-A022.VMS is stable again, it was a bit on and off yesterday
-
(Quote) The recovery wasn't too abysmal thankfully. Just need to wait for the network to settle down now though, getting anywhere between 600-1000ms on the first hop running mtr to google
-
My server on RYZE.LAX-A022.VMS dropped off the internet and I had to reconfigure the network with the new IP to get it to work again.

(Quote) Losing New Zealand would be incredibly disappointing if the alternative is Australia. There's a complete lack of lowend NZ locations but an abundance of Australian lowend options.
-
As long as the NZ location stays and I can still run an OpenVPN server from it, I'll be fine with whatever option
