Good for VPNs. You get a /48, then each of your (family) members gets a normal /64, no sloppy NATting, no Google nagging about your suspicious browsing habits, etc.

Some providers let their customer switch between speeds, at will
e.g. Servarica, IIRC: either 100Mbps unlimited (comfortable enough for tiny daily backups etc.); or a few TBs at 1Gbps …
