Some of you saw the original Hypervisor V2 thread when we launched it as a lightweight KVM control panel. Big update: it grew up. Hypervisor.io is now a full self-hosted KVM cloud, the kind of stack you would reach for OpenStack or CloudStack to build, minus the multi-server control plane and the ops headache. One master, as many slave nodes as you like. Provisioning, the cloud-services layer, and billing all in the same box.
The bit we are most proud of: The AI assistant. Not a docs chatbot, it actually provisions. You type "spin up 3 VMs behind a load balancer with SSL" or "resize my Postgres and add a replica" and it reads your real infra and executes through the same API the UI uses. No one else in this category ships that.

Not here to bash anyone, Virtualizor and Solus are solid and OpenStack/CloudStack scale huge. The difference is we ship the cloud-services layer plus billing plus an AI that runs it as one product. If you just need VM provisioning, the classics do fine. If you want the AWS-style stack on your own metal with invoicing and an AI assistant already wired, that is us, running the same day.

Hypervisor v3.1.0 is now available as a stable release.
This release introduces native Proxmox VE 8 and 9 support, allowing existing nodes and clusters to be managed alongside KVM infrastructure from a single platform.

Hypervisor v3.1.6 Stable Release
Version 3.1.6 is a major update focused on System DNS, Kubernetes operations, load balancing and database backup reliability.
System DNS
• Every public instance, load balancer, managed database and Kubernetes control plane now receives an automatic hostname under a domain configured by the operator.
• DNS records are created during provisioning, automatically updated when an IP address changes and removed when the resource is destroyed.
• A new delegation wizard verifies that the domain is correctly delegated and publicly resolvable before it is activated.
• Public managed databases automatically receive trusted Let's Encrypt TLS certificates. Customers can securely connect using hostname verification without accepting self-signed certificates.
• Certificate renewal is handled automatically, while DNS issues never block instance or service provisioning.
Kubernetes
• Active node pools can now change instance plans without scaling down to zero.
• New workers are provisioned and confirmed healthy before existing workers are cordoned, drained and removed. This maintains the required pool capacity throughout the rotation.
• Administrators can monitor remaining workers on the previous plan and resume interrupted rotations directly from the panel.
• Kubernetes Services can now use private internal load balancer VIPs instead of exposing services publicly.
• Improved operation locking prevents conflicting scale, upgrade and rotation operations from running simultaneously.
Load Balancers and Databases
• Host-based routing allows a single load balancer to route multiple domains to different backend services.
• Managed database backups now run independently of the previous 58-minute connection limit.
• Backup progress displays transferred data in real time, with faster detection of unreachable database servers.

Things you should know before you bother
Not here to trash the alternatives. VirtFusion is a good panel and Phill ships. Virtualizor runs a lot of production. If VPS is all you sell, either is a reasonable place to be. This is for people whose customers keep asking for a managed database, load balancers, vpcs or a K8s cluster and who are tired of saying no.

The automatic DNS and trusted TLS for managed databases sound like particularly useful additions. I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has already migrated a production setup from Virtualizor or VirtFusion and how smooth the process was in practice.
The addition of native Proxmox VE support alongside full VPC and automated DNS/TLS integration makes Hypervisor look like a serious contender. That migration offer is surprisingly generous—having hands-on help rather than just a script is a huge safety net for production nodes. Looking forward to hearing more community feedback as people take you up on it!
