    Requesting feature:
Favorite symbol for a post, viewable only by the user which faved it

    Use the star on thread?

Troublesome if it's on the cest pit

do you mean like bookmarking a post within a thread rather than a whole thread?

    That's correct.

Can't you use your browsers bookmark to bookmark the post? Maybe add a link to name it make it easy to bookmark?

@AnthonySmith for providers, you cannot get a list of their posts + threads started (nor for provider representatives) right now using point+click. If I go to your profile, the "comments/threads started" things arent clickable.

I will treat that as a bug report rather than a feature request.

    Will have a look tomorrow.

How about a LES style v86 project built into the forum so you can spin up browser based VM's and we can finally have a place to donate idle VPS as web sockets to give them external IP addresses.

If you don't understand that, trust me it's fun https://copy.sh/v86/ example.

    Ignored specific topic. Easy :D

  • Seemed only result was more down votes, though ... 🤪 So maybe someone felt annoyed, but I dunno where else to discuss the feature wishes ... And I have no idea why someone would vote against having the possibility to mute/ignore certain threads. 🤷‍♂️ Like if there a megathread with a topic I don't care about, it will pop back all the time, after I have used Mark all as read ... No big deal, but would be neat to just mute/ignore it.👍

And really, if a feature doesn't sound interesting to you, why downvote? (Been too much on Reddit?)
Just leaving it alone should be sufficient ...

All in all I like many of the new things @AnthonySmith has done in v2, great initiative 👏😃

Back in 2014, one of the European hosts I used required the server termination request to be sent via fax to them. They own entire data center. They can't use email or contact form or have any button to cancel the server contract. Only hard copy signed and sent via fax...

After that I gave up on hosting my servers in Europe regions in fear of this....

3 weeks ago I requested an insurance company to send their invoices via email.
They denied the request and said they could only send them via post.

But reminders of unpaid invoices could be sent via email. 🤷🏻🤔

When I moved to a new address, I updated my address in the bank's online portal. They sent 2 letters, one to old address, one to new address to inform the address is being changed, and 1 week later, the address has been changed. After 1 month, they sent my new card to the old address and the card "activation pin" to the new address?!? When I called them, they said the card, which i requested 3 weeks after the address change confirmation mail, was requested before the change was reflected, and all further letters will be sent to new address.

Well fine, not much issue. Next month, the bank statement/report still sent to old address. Call them again, they apologize and promise it wont happen again. Next week I get another letter to my new address saying the address change has been reflected. Next month, same thing. Letters sent to old address...

Well, next week, when I called to cancel my bank account, the conversation with their L2 support was a fun one. Would you like to guess which mailing address was used when they confirmed my bank account was closed? Yep, the old address

  • I wonder why some threads are small with an eye to click/open and most not. Could that be an option for all, to shrink the list of threads?
    Any option to separate them?

It's the Show Less button (Submit a Link) for when you quickly want to paste a link to something useful or interesting without writing an essay about it.

Well, its not that interesting, but would be better to pack random links in a thread, if that thematic is available in other threads, example the alpine things.

Disagree. If you put all those in a thread I likely won't monitor it due to the signal to noise ratio. I'm reserving judgement on these Show LES but I can usually at least tell whether I'm interested just by the thread title.

Think of it as micro posts, quick share things you find.

If it doesn't work out, no problem, lots of new things being tested right now.

@AnthonySmith for the provider tag request, I think it's important to know the country the company is registered in. Also, they should provide a link to "validate" their company registration, not just the registration number. If they are a sole provider, they should put in their country of residence. Also, if they do not fill up the fields, it should not disappear, but show up as "N/A" so we know they did not fill it up. If the field is not there, most people wont remember what fields they neglected to fill up.

Again, it's just a recommendation (more like a shower thought), so feel free to modify or ignore it if you think it's not needed :)
