  • Shipped out with AlmaLinux, this greeting message definitely scared me

@vyas -- If you're like me and hate Alma, this script seems to be running well for Debian12, just make sure you run it over VNC or else it'll be like shooting blind.

  • We are excited to have you be a part of our first-ever VPS giveaway! We’d like to take a moment to share some important details and clarify the purpose of this offer.

The 10 free VPS we are giving away are designed with one goal in mind: to support you, our dedicated community members. This giveaway is meant to help you with your testing and development purposes, and it's our way of contributing to your ongoing work. We are not offering this as a long-term hosting solution but rather as a way to give back and build a stronger relationship with the LES community.

We understand that flexibility is important, which is why we provide you with a control panel to easily choose and change the Alma OS on your VPS, allowing you to set up your server with the OS of your choice.

If you notice any "last login failed" messages, there's no need to worry! This might be due to incorrect password attempts and doesn't reflect an actual issue with your account. We conduct thorough checks before delivery, so this is simply a result of previous login attempts.

Our goal is to help you, and we don’t wish to compare our services with others. We don't have hosting provider tag yet so we are not able to post any offer and pricing details. Our main aim is to support the community in your testing and development efforts.

Lastly, I want to sincerely thank everyone who participated in this giveaway. Your involvement has made this DedicatedCore first giveaway a success, and we are truly grateful for your support.

Thank you again, and we look forward to continuing to serve you!

So you hate Alma because it told you your ssh port was exposed? :P

    No, no, that is informational.
My hatred for AlmaLinux extends as far as CentOS and it is solely out of my pure spite and hatred of RPM packages. Nothing personal, just don't like them

Wow that script works as described, never been happier to get back to Debian. Muscle Memory/ Complacency (to learn new things)/ old age making me grumpy. Whatever the reason...

    Thanks again

That script has saved me more than once. Its super quick, especially for dedis without having to fire up a IPMI session.
