    Nobody uses oxygen builder?

I have been following the Oxygen group on FB, I have tried the demo, I watched videos about it.. somehow I felt it was not for me. I get that many people are happy with it and that's great, but perhaps for me the whole idea of going "themeless" and also the builder itself when trying it was just not what I was looking for. Not to say it is bad, it just wasn't for me.

  • Honestly the norm is to disable gutenberg as soon as you install a clean WP instance. Any actual dev knows this is the way (trying to be funny). No but seriously, just check the millions of downloads and installs that the classic editor plugin has. A plugin that was created in response to the gutenberg been set as default.

I would rank the top builders as : Divi Builder -> Elementor -> WP Bakery (former visual composer).
Some elementors addon plugins were targetted recently, some security issues, make sure you are up to date.

I put the "free" Virmach 512 MB Vps to use; Installed WordPress + OpenLiteSpeed on it. Pretty nifty stuff! On base Ubuntu 18.04, RAM usage is between 220 and 280 MB - leaving nearly 200 MB free. The test site and related blog post with images is at

I've noticed Stackable on there for a while but after seeing what happened to Quebely (development), I'm skipping that one for now. Surely not a bad builder but rn not for me.

I am tinkering around with TasteWP - "Disposable" Wordpess installations. These are WP sites that are valid for 7 Days.
They do have plans for more longer term WP sites, but I like the concept.

Here is the (aff) link to sign up for those interested. *

    https://tastewp.com/r/AbaV

I really like the options they offer at the time of installation.

    Settings for TasteWP

*Note: 1. You sign up for free account, For every 3 registrations, the referrer gets 1 "non-disposable" wordpress install.
    2. I am very bad at affiliate stuff, so help me learn :-)

    1. Link to the site I created- this site will self delete on August 5, 2021

Looks nice. Definitely a niche market they could get there. As for me, I'd just spin up a Softaculous install with my favourite freely available themes/plugins pre-installed using Softaculous "Sets". I have a subdomain (along the lines demo.domain.com..) where I temporarily try, clone and migrate stuff :) Softaculous makes this a few clicks, really.

  • vyasvyas OGSenpai

I Agree- Softaculous is a good way, this gives an option for some quick and dirty installation + testing.
    Forgot to add:
Account is free to use - probably they are in a public beta. Had last read about them on Product Hunt in Feb 2021

It definitely sounds great and really only takes seconds to spin up, I imagine. So, I can see why it would be appealing. I even think I have heard of them before somewhere.. Hmm.. :D

Interesting find, although I will skip this deal. For hosting, I like to carefully select the hosts I work with (unless for fun) and not sure when the first issue with "unlimited" policy would appear. That being said, I also have more than enough resources on my Reseller plans, so really not needing it now.

On another note: What are your go to SEO plugins today? I usually choose Yoast (free), but many also seem to like AIO SEO or Rankmath (although for Rankmath it sounds kinda shilled sometimes).

Anyone tried Slimseo? Looks interesting: https://wpslimseo.com/

Awesome news for Divi fans :)

A mail regarding this update just came in :)

    P9M2x.jpg

Today we are excited to release a transformational Divi Performance update that speeds up Divi from every angle and lays down a foundation on which Divi can grow with more modules and more features without ever adding bloat to your website. We turned Divi into a super light-weight theme by modularizing its PHP framework and assets, loading and processing only what’s needed on-demand based on the modules and features you use. We made Divi super smart, automatically identifying Critical CSS, deferring non-critical styles and reducing the Divi Builder’s CSS output by combining duplicate styles. We also introduced a collection of new options that automatically improve performance by caching and deferring various render-blocking requests and removing unneeded resources.

For about a year now, I've switched all the websites to The SEO Framework (TSF).
For a bit more details, I wrote an article comparing it with Yoast, and mentioning some other alternatives:
    TSF vs Yoast
