(Quote) Yikes thanks for that info, I was thinking maybe it was something that this AI threw in randomly? I've seen sites that go like "Someone from Country just bought Product!" but never with their first names..
-
(Quote) Hey just a comment I noticed in https://pulsedmedia.com/data/v1/eternal-orders.json it has the first names of people who ordered as well as their country? that seems like protected info and I don't know if people consented or wanted their da…

Does anyone have a list of the ones that support port forwarding?
-
(Quote) Yeah that was the feeling I got too. Thanks
-
Do you happen to have GooseVPN I got that on appsumo during a sale and barely used it
-
There are some other cool perks from donating too like being able to use a custom domain! https://disroot.org/perks Off the top of my head there aren't a lot of free email services that will let you do this, I think Zoho may be one as well as Infom…

(Quote) Yeah I am not sure about the US, what are the best EU privacy jurisdictions now that Germany is doing this?
-
This is bad, wasn't proton moving some of their servers over to DE? And Tuta is there too. " Internet services such as email and messaging apps would also be obligated to store and disclose data upon request." How does that affect them wou…

(Quote) I believe the data in there is not truly end to end encrypted by default if this is something you're concerned about.
-
(Quote) Yes you can open a ticket at https://support.c-servers.co.uk, I got some pretty good support regarding ISO images and they even updated some wikis over it.

https://european-alternatives.eu/category/managed-dns-providers Any of these sound good?

Just saw this on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/1rk2th7/ubuntu_is_planning_to_comply_with_age/ Was really hoping they would go the route of geoblocking CA, causing companies and their own state server infrastructure to take notice …

If I were you I'd go with the Koofr lifetime plan while it's still around. Company is quite stable and has been around for ages. Although I just realized this may not quite be "set it and forget it" as the lifetime plans will at some poin…

Do you have anything that is more mini like 500-250gb?
-
C-Servers has this but I never tried it: https://web.c-servers.co.uk/category/hourly-vps
-
Nice this looks like it brings a small storage box (500gb) to 27.74 for 3 years which is quite similar to hostbrr's storage box price for this amount but with more bandwidth and you get a full VPS.

(Quote) Yes I currently own one! It is on the older hardware but I've been happy with it so far
-
I thought you guys were doing "lifetime like" plans because lifetime is unsustainable?
-
(Quote) Yes I understand I had a brainfart there and realized systemd-homed is just LUKS under the hood as well and the key would also be in the memory dump, although you're right that it would make it more tiresome forensically. I do really like sy…

(Quote) LOL just went through that ancient java one on my OVH dedi. The IE5 and ActiveX blows my mind. Funny that these older ones actually give you more safety. I know it was a pain in the ass for me so an attacker would give up quick
-
(Quote) Good reminder about IPMI I don't expect it's bad on any of my providers but I do go in and change the LUKS password after I need to use it to set up or log in. I don't know much about this but when doing some research with AI it was suggest…
-
(Quote) You mean e2e only? Because what I'm learning is that LUKS on a VPS provider that doesn't have non encrypted ram, as long as it's powered on could theoretically have VPS imaged, ram dumped and then LUKS is trivial to unlock
-
(Quote) What is the attack vector on dedicated devices if they have bad IPMI or KVM over IP? Would that be interfering with my unencrypted boot partition to keylog luks password etc?
-
(Quote) Honestly it's more of just a thought experiment for me! Because I want to understand the technology and its limits. Whoa thanks so much for this link! So this could be the future of truly secure VPS? Is it in a usable state? Do any provider…
-
(Quote) Lol sorry to keep you hanging it's been a long day. Meant to say what if they were able to access and leak the personal data
-
(Quote) Yes, I understand that realistically but it still makes me nervous if I had sensitive data on the VPS and was wondering how much LUKS/systemd-homed could help in this case. Also just because I'm interested in privacy and understanding and be…

!! does anyone know what backend they were using? i wonder if there's a vulnerability

(Quote) yeaah!!

any deals to celebrate? =)

(Quote) Oh nice! Is the Zeta9 your own hardware?
-
@cservers New page has a banner discussing the migration but has a broken link: https://web.c-servers.co.uk/info/delta1-and-zeta5-solusvm-virtfusion-migration-incoming What is the "good news" for Frankfurt customers??
-
(Quote) Oh you really take that much of a performance hit running within Docker? Do you know how many tokens per second you were getting? I can compare
-
Nice! I messed around with https://github.com/mudler/LocalAI on my OVH server a long time back I think it's time to try again. This one puts it in a docker container and you get an API which is cool
