(Quote) Thank you both the storage and bandwidth upgrades were applied!
-
(Quote) Hello, thanks for this! Is this recurring?
-
(Quote) we wouldn't be posting if the provider replied to the PMs :(
-
(Quote) Do you mean you upgraded my service? Because I didn't get a reply to my DM and I don't see the upgrade applied
-
(Quote) Hey can you please reply to DMs people have sent you about upgrading services?
-
(Quote) Hey, I've sent a DM and no response

(Quote) My domain is still OK because I was able to pay for it before all this stuff went down, but I am wanting to have an option before it is up for renewal next year because I don't know where that money is going to. i heard some lucky people wer…

Hey so I'm not sure if I can address this exact issue but I may be of some help. I do have a .tk domain that was paid that I was able to pay for for another year but I was also concerned about it being in limbo. My understanding is that Gandhi whate…

(Quote) did you have any issues with the limitless reseller, sounds like lack of support?
-
(Quote) curious how these compare, I love lifetimes and I've been curious about ZAP for a vps etc. But I don't like the 3 month login thing, makes me nervous, and I heard there could be speed/reliability issues with ZAP There was also the VisualWebT…

(Quote) Cool thanks for that it was not clear on their order site!

(Quote) Nice! Where did you move to? I was considering Namecrane's refugee offer (came out to 6.5 for 15gb NVME) and Limitless host's 6 dollar reseller plan for 20gb SSD. Namecrane looked OK but it looks like they don't support python, rails, node j…

Just signed up with the @MikeA refugee plan today! He was very responsive. Overall I got my money's worth out of the lifetime deal but I'd rather pay to not to worry about the business falling out. I'll keep my unimportant/hobby stuff on MyW for no…
-
(Quote) Yeah I saw on LET that MikeA was doing a deal, less than 10 for a year, he's been around for a while and seems legit.

Well it's nice that jar paid for the servers but as a lifetime customer it kind of feels like this just bought me some more time. Do you guys suggest waiting until BF to find something? I have a Kimsufi dedi with some random docker containers on it…

(Quote) Check that one out actually, it's a desktop app in this case, not saas, that also works on linux :) https://imdone.io/ Confusing because Stacksocial often does offer SAAS apps and I had linked them before but this is just a cool desktop app…

Actually I just realized I saw this on sale on stacksocial which looked really interesting: https://stacksocial.com/sales/imdone-kanban-task-management-app-lifetime-subscription

It's not selfhosted but appsumo often has some good lifetimes for this, right now they have one called Bloo. I purchased ora.pm when they had it and it's a good trello replacement.

or you could also be a loveable ENFP :)

(Quote) Yeah this is why I'm asking the question people have lots of preferences that they developed over the years, I know some people do port knocking and stuff too but in the end I think some things have changed to make those methods less useful.…

(Quote) so do you use this for all your servers? trying to figure out if i should have separate private keys (Quote) I already have a system for passwords that works pretty well - check out Lesspass or Supergenpass. I like this because then I don't…

(Quote) what about this little guy? (Image)

(Quote) That's going to be tough to restore if it's on a piece of paper! That reminds me of the lavabit guy printing out their key in teeny tiny letters...plus another question I had was what's the best practice with SSH keys, should I have differen…

(Quote) for sure! just seems like there should be some in browser encryption technology, I think mega.nz uses that, but as I understand Nextcloud is ramping up with the end to end.
-
(Quote) I'm just doing the web client, not supported on there? Wasn't aware of that. I can check on android in a second
-
(Quote) sure, it's just nice to see the files in the UI as well for some things
-
Ok, it seems like end to end didn't get turned on/applied to my account. I'm not seeing it in settings or when I right click folders. I changed my main password as well because when I was doing my instance it seemed that the private key was tied to …

(Quote) Got it. Thanks so much for that, still getting up to speed on Nextcloud. Although like with my other post and the replies I am a bit nervous about end to end within nextcloud due to some of these bugs, but it's good to know that it exists an…

If you don't need more than 100G you can try the novos.be 200g offer listed in the other thread :)

So it still says in privacy that admin has access to my files but it also says that server side encryption is on. Not sure how to test the other encryption or if that applies when it's saying admin still has access
-
(Quote) Oh yes. I just set up my own instance and ran into this issue immediately. Shocked that it's been around so long: https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/23197
-
Hi! Thanks for this! It was very quickly provisioned. I have a question about privacy, it does say that admin has access to my files? Does that mean you can see my files despite being encrypted? Thanks
-
Did anyone see the post on Lowendtalk that Ikoula is doing a special year of the ox sale? 50% many different servers with the code NNKL. But most of the cheap ones are sold out :(

Does anyone know what CPUs power their C-Memory, C-Storage, C-core line?
-
(Quote) yeah I noticed that. I think I'll go with statping for now. but I like Ciao's ui

I've heard great things about caddy and have wanted to try too especially for its reverse proxy ability. thanks for the writeup! @yoursunny btw your site seems to be down though..

(Quote) Oops, brain fart, it is a good service though, and you can update after the fact to 2.5 gb lifetime too. but yes, sorry it doesn't fit this scenario. when you need this much storage for sure there are only limited options these days and it's…
