That’s a great call, though—even though I’m usually just lurking, I definitely remember them from back in the day. In fact, RansomIT would be awesome since their latency to my ISP is much better than LeaseWeb's.

Sorry for maybe too many questions.

I have been trying to figure out how to create a new TierHive VPS in a new location from the Control Panel with IPv6 already installed and working inside the VPS.

I think I understand that -- all within the Control Pnel -- one can create a VPS, add an IPv6 subnet to the location of the created VPS, plus add an IPv6 address to the created VPS. Then one apparently can log in to the new VPS via IPv4 and configure the internal IPv6 network settings manually inside the VPS.

But, if there is a way that the Control Panel can create a new VPS in a new location with IPv6 up and running inside the VPS, . . . I have missed it. So I could use some help understanding the Control Panel, when you have time, please, no rush.

Also, I again ran into the result of many successful TierHive Kansas City sales! So, if possible, could you again help with capacity as well, please. Should I try to continue with Kansas City location or try again elsewhere? Again, no rush, please. Whenever you have time is fine!

There is not, because you allocate/whitelist the IPv6 addresses and assign them to a VS once the VPS has been created.

So if you want IPv6 you need to manually configure it using the info provided in the panel.

After the last update, I did everyone jumped in on Kansas, its pretty slammed now, I need to get on to @Advin to get additional capacity.

Feature Request -- Add NetBSD

If it helps, @cmeerw has been making NetBSD qcow2 images.

Linveo has been using @cmeerw's images. @linveo

I don't think there are official NetBSD qcow images. But @cmeerw's images seem to work for me.

Well, comparing a Ryzen 7 9850X3D with Xeon doesnt make much sense. Some people need a Porsche, some people need a Scania truck. Lets not fetishize that score.
For long-lasting sustained load and years+ unaffected work, I wouldnt bet on Ryzen with non-ECC RAM.
And Im not expecting a Porsche to last 2 million miles.

Well in fairness I broke them when I had the mail relay and sql variables etc stripped out and totally forgot the impact on the recipes section until the last moment, so.. it got priority haha.

I am not sure I understand the question.

You have mutiple options.

You can set up 1 location (single server mode) for 1 domain, or you can add multi server mode for 1 domain and it will be served from all locations, you can also set up multiple backends per domain and per location and have round robin plus failover.

examples:

1 domain, 1 back end 1 location.

1 domain, mutiple back end VPS, round robin or failover or both, multiple locations possible.

1 domain, 1 backend, responds to all of our external IPs so you can add an A record for all of our IPs and no matter which one it hits it will be routed to yoru back end on our mesh.

Has that changed recently? I went to try Global before and it only want to tie my single server to regional. That was a month ago, though.

That really depends on your own DNS we don't control that.

But we do have the bones of our own nameserver system with location based routing.in our sandpit version internally that will do that, although honestly it might be a while before that hits production.

Not new but the UI was broken at one point you might have hit it then, that was when we first attempted to do static hosting (releasing next week)

As long as your DoH client can use a non standard (443) port, there is no problem in setting up a DoH server and mapping it to an external port on TierHive. I gave it a stab, but failed as HAProxy probably does not like to handle DoH.

No sorry, they are usually removed when not relevant anymore people were complaining about an endless click cycle to remove them from the dashboard.

We will be getting a seperate externally hosted status page up soon that will start to store them all.

I am just doing the last sets of testing on it today, I have a list of about 6 fixes to send back (UI/UX only) and my collegue is going to also check it over the weekend and if all goes to plan, release on Monday.

DMCA or EU equivalents are standard 24-48h to action notices. Put your abuse address in front of it so notices hit you, not your client

Ok fine. Was thinking to use it as a sort of selfhost CDN but won't consider.

Anyways this has worked really well for me, I have managed to play with it a bit by self hosting some portfolio website. To be honest I wasn't expect anything to run smooth on 128mb ram. Interesting wireGuard mesh networking as well. If you don't mind sharing, what software was used for virtualisation?

As an aside, when trying to test the included HAproxy, I discovered none of the free subdomain services will allow _TXT records.

From this perspective a user content domain would be a welcome addition, as previously alluded to.

yeah we had to engineer a complete custom conductor for the mesh, it probably was not worth the massive engineering effort it took to get right but it was one of those things that was always part of the design from day one so about an extra 3 - 4 weeks of time was pumped into it, happy with the result, but I would not do it again if I was starting over.

It's all bog-standard Qemu/KVM with libvirt but we have put a huge amount of effort into optimising the nodes so squeeze every last drop of performance and density out of them. The TierHive panel itself is proprietary.
