New members - Change of process

Following the feedback on the feedback thread, changes have been made.

There will now be 1 new members mega thread all new member posts will go in there not seperate posts.

New members (working on permissions) will have more rights to interact with existing threads outside of the "new members" member group, but will still not be able to see offers etc until on +5 karma

No one with less than 25 karma can give a new member an upvote and upvotes for new members can be given on any thread they interact with.

No one can gift karma to a new member; only up/down votes will work.

If users in the 'new members' group get -5 they are banned.

Participation from new members after registration is not mandatory but encouraged and rewarded; obvious spammers will be auto-removed quickly by the community downvotes.

Standard members are welcome to ignore the megathread if they have no interest; obviously, it helps LES in general to bring new members in.

I believe that solves all problems, or at least it's worth seeing how it goes before any further feedback is needed, but if you can spot an obvious problem that is not equivalent to "What if an asteroid strikes at 16:38 on a Tuesday"

No idea if it's already working like this, but how about the same info as in OP in a read-only post only visible to new members?
Like an "read this, and your life will be easier here at LES"
