well, my suggestion is that if there is credit and you don't plan to charge back, use it, use it all and use it fast.

i've tried that, my orders keep on getting cancelled

Thats low, I imagine the credit is then not returned either?

Credit is being returned. My orders keep getting deleted too.

So far 2 days in to ordering an NVME server. He should AT LEAST keep those in stock right?

@InceptionHosting - credit was returned, took a second attempt with a different product to get something delivered.

Took four days but I finally got mine just now. I ordered a Norway NVMe and got an Oradea NMVe on what seems to be a sub-100Mbit link.

Given the time for the service to be delivered, the process doesn't feel automated - and to be honest I was surprised something was actually delivered. However, I ordered a kebab and a Coke and received a pizza and a Fanta... that had been dropped on the ground... and half eaten...

I've lodged a tiket, let's see how this goes...

         Server: efectRO - Cluj-Napoca (id = 28431)
            ISP: Parfumuri Femei.com SRL

Upload: 27.25 Mbps (data used: 47.1 MB)

Both my services now involucrated and I have €64.70 EUR in HS junk bonds credit. Interesting. I hadn't checked this before.

at less than 100mbit cociu could be hosting in his residence too. check the olx listing for his house, if it includes 2680v4 servers.

    I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

I had a bit more credit left over so I just ordered a Norway storage service and will see if I get the Orafjord, Norwania or actual Norway.

... it may be that there's no NVMe (my initial orders were cancelled once then provisioned in wrong country) availability in Norway... irrespective it's for testing only, the Norwania server is <100mbit network connectivity so pretty useless for my original use case.

I'd opened a tiket a few days ago asking WTF is going on and it looks like the tiket has automagically disappeared (must be that on that super dark fibre between BUC and OR) in the past ~12 hrs...

edit: whoah WTF - third service was provisioned... in Norway! (got no notification)... lucky me :|

FYI my Norway storage VPS is still working fine (mostly using it as a low end seedbox), and today I got an email about upcoming changes (TL;DR: Terrahost is taking over HS NO servers):

    Dear customer,

I'm Marius Borta from HostSolutions.ro. This is a message to inform you that we have entered into an agreement with Terrahost AS to take over our servers and customers at our Norway location.

While it has been a really fun ride I have come to the conclusion that I need to focus on my core business in Romania and my personal health going forward. This agreement is done in the best interest of our customers in Norway, and things will just improve going forward.

Our hardware is colocated at Terrahost's facilities in Norway, so it will not be moved, but Terrahost do plan on migrating all virtual server customers to new servers while still honoring pricing and plans.

Here are a few important notes regarding the transfer to Terrahost AS:

    • Virtual servers will be 1:1 migrated to new servers with current IP address.
    • Your price and plan will not change and Terrahost will honor this on current plans.
    • Your IP address will need to be changed within 6 months of the migration.

Terrahost will be in contact with affected customers very soon to coordinate migration and establishment of new customer accounts at their portal.

I want to thank everyone that has followed us on this journey. HostSolutions will not go anywhere, but for the time being our primary focus will be our services hosted in Romania.

If you have any questions regarding this transition process, please feel free to get in touch with me via skype or email .
    Kind regards,
    Marius Borta

    • Good to know the server will still be online for a while!
    • But this means I won't be able to use the accumulated credit anymore, well at least not for services in Norway... (and the court case is still not settled, so soon, we might not only be missing Norway, but any kind of service at all)
    • I swear some ghost writer must have written this email! (Unless cociu went through an intensive writing course :P)

Looks like they did, and some more discussions on OGF on the subject - best left at that.

    See the message below.

The email is correct, we are taking over HS infrastructure and customers in Norway. Virtual servers will be moved to newer and more powerful hardware very soon.

The combination of services in Norway makes this profitable for us, so we have no plans of adjusting pricing. But we will most likely not offer anything more at these prices

We are however not able to honor credits unfortunately.

If you have a SSD VPS, you will soon be able to stretch your legs on a Ryzen 5950X with NVMe. If you have a HDD VPS, your new home will be Dual E5-2697v2 servers with NVMe cached RAID10 HDD storage.

Emails will soon go out to customers to coordinate the move.

  • A little bitter now that mine was cancelled in July without an invoice amid the mess.
Was an absolute steal for the three years prior to that, perhaps something comparable comes up soon!

  • So this is the HODL trend...
