I was to meet up with @FAT32 & VirMach on a bus in Los Angeles back in 2017, but @FAT32 did not show up.
So unfortunately @FAT32 is unable to confirm that VirMach and I were at the same place at the same time.

Create a ticket to be moved away. I've been working on this and trying to get it more stable, it does appear temporarily more stable after every fix for a few days to a week and then this happens again as you've described.

xfs_repair kinda failed - a lot of important files in lost+found, grub files, apt configuration, basic perl modules rendering dpkg useless lost. Rabbit hole, not worth digging into. System lost, clean reinstall done

Sure I'll venture a guess.
Virmach has remote hands checking and/or trying to recover a broken drive. I don't think the node is down, only some VMs are down on TYOC027. We were just lucky enough to be on a drive that has issues. If the drive can't be recovered, it will be replaced and restored from backups. This could take a few more days or a week depending on DC hands workload and what needs to be done.

When the Los Angeles migrations are finished, I expect that VirMach may have time to deal with this, but right now it is probably not the top priority as relatively few VMs are affected. I know this probably doesn't make you feel any better about this downtime, but that is my guess. If you are really in a bind, and have your own backups to restore, PM me with what size VM you have and I'll see if there is something I can lend you in the meantime.

Of course maybe you'll get lucky and because I said it could take a week, it will be up in a hour just to show how wrong I am.

Sorry, I guess I should just go for it. I'm really dreading this situation because if I take action in this particular case, there is a small chance it could go terribly wrong. But you're right, it's been too long and I haven't been able to find a better solution. The main issue is that if it does go bad, it will require a lot more time to be spent on it. Let's see if we're lucky.

Mine seems to work, but this idler have amazing CPU usage for last 5 hours and I guess some dicks died [yours!] and node is struggling?
This is pre-hetrixtools steal-update agent, but 99.5% of this CPU usage is steal.

Tokyo-exclusive issue. We can't move people to nearby location as we normally would (we'd get 95% complaints) and can't move everyone to another Tokyo node either because it'll likely cause problems on the other node after a mass migration. Also this would only be possible for the ones that are online.

What I can offer is to move anyone who contacts us to get recreated on another node if they want to abandon their data.

As for what I said I'd do the other day, I did. It didn't result in it going terribly wrong but it also didn't go terribly right. Closer to wrong than right. There's a lot more that could be said but it's not helpful.

That one started being weird a day or two ago. None of this is a coincidence though, I just haven't had time to play detective while dealing with LAXA004S. Such a PITA, I had to basically piece together the host operating system because it decided to die mid-patch.

Getting no response when using VNC so can't even say the disk has gone.

More than likely if the purchase was denied for whatever reason, and it does not show as account credit, the money will be returned to your card. Sometimes it takes the bank a bit to process the reversal. VirMach is not known for keeping peoples money without providing the service purchased. Virmach will probably drop by later to answer this definitively, in the mean time don't worry that you got scammed for your $$.
