I think my AMS0031 VM came back to life today
Oh, the resurrected VM is now on a different node/location: RYZE.LAX-A024.VMS …
(I ran an sysupgrade on this OpenBSD just now, and that crashed mid-upgrade on full fs … So, we'll see if I can salvage that …)

Is this perhaps the last place in the world where people are still talking about Virmach?
There is another one on OGF 🤣
Does that one have more memes and Reddit-style attention-grabbing posts?

Not totally dark. We have heard from him, including that ticket request for LA yesterday that may have resurrected 10 nodes. He's still around. We also discussed doing some work for him in Chicago when we're there next. I don't know anything more about his plans beyond that...

Really happy to hear that he is still around. There may still be hope.
I know I'm always late to the party on these things, but on the shared side of things, VirMach no longer controls the IP my shared service was using. It's been down for months and now it's probably not coming back.
What's frustrating is that all the details seem to be in WHMCS, it is (or was) a cPanel license that costs per user and the server is online, but inaccessible. I bet a $20 Ollama subscription with GLM5.2 would let him basically run the business autonomously.
And no one better do that because that's my idea. RockinHost coming soon.

as in the IP is re assigned to a different ASN?
check my pervious reply,ip range has been assign to other provider that also selling vps based on xtom JP,maybe it is v.ps by xtom itself
Yeah, that isn't entirely surprising. If he's not getting any revenue (except I paid him $2.22 recently for a Miami VPS that amazingly still works), I can't imagine he's really able to afford the relatively large IP space Virmach had.
Frustrating thing about the shared hosting packages is that even though they started out as a dedicated IP, having something that works is far better than nothing. He just needs to do what Namecrane did and put everyone on a shared IP. Like I said, the shared server appears to actually be operational - it's reporting stats to WHMCS - but it's inaccessible due to IP reassignment.
I have to think this isn't his primary business anymore. The revenue has to be right around nothing, and he's still going to have bills to pay. He's probably busy with a new, main source of income. It would be nice to have a bit more communication from him, though.

Or rename the thread as “Flan recipes”

I found a use for my VPS that's expiring in 1 month or so: Trying out the free version of @aaPanel …
(Not sure if I should revive the old thread about Best cPanel alternatives 2023 …)
I'll chip in for a Chicago deep dish pizza dinner for you if you can bring CHIZ003 back to life
i see "Not totally dark" and "still be hope"
Hey, it should be called a cPanel alternative for 2026.
Our VirMach invoice is $0.00/month.
Half the price would be
$0.or$00— both are acceptable.NVMe2G for life!
The last flan is taken. 🍮 affbrr
