Current plan is to do what @yoursunny suggested (or maybe just encouraged and it was someone else's idea?) a while back with Psychz. Something involving driving a car into a building. For legal reasons, that's a joke, and what we'll probably instead do is figure out when the hell we can get our equipment out and then realistically pay them $7.50 per month for 3 x /64's and assign everyone a single IPv6 and then optionally charge $0.60 per month Hivelocity IPv6 depletion fee for a /68.
Maybe we can convince them to bump down the price of a /48 by $163,830 per month if they're generous or sane, then whatever, we can just pay them like a hundred bucks a year for nothing just to avoid having to get a /36 from ARIN for like $250 a year since that's the minimum amount they charge to manage one account.
But yeah once I stop losing it over this it just means we'll have to hand $250/yr to ARIN, whatever.

Looks like we made the mistake of making a DC hands request to check on RU13 and in the process they pressed power key on RU12 (MIAZ012.) It came back up but didn't come back cleanly so it overloaded. (Since we have some VMs that are still incompatible, the thing from a long time ago where it tries to boot it up and hogs all the CPU happened.)
And of course they pretended like it didn't happen.
(And so did our monitoring system since it came back up essentially immediately.)

Once we set up the monitoring on a VM within the node it should catch things like this better since the VM would potentially run into issues and get marked as potentially offline whereas the host node won't since it has enough juice to respond to pings.

I don't even think this was it. Looks like two very old services on Windows just decided to do weird Windows things immediately after reboot and that was enough to screw things up while everything else was also trying to happen at the same time.
Windows be like alright someone rebooted me time to immediately read 140MB/s and write 40MB/s at 8KB for like an hour.

I'm curious why you don't request IP from ARIN. but like to rent IP?
Just remind yourself what was last DC that VirMach used and then ask yourself why would they bother going IPv6

We probably have to in this case, but the reason we didn't do it is it's a long/annoying process and they charge for IPv6 announcements plus there's a minimum fee with ARIN to where it doesn't really make sense. Although it would definitely be cool to at least have IPv6 remain the same forever and we were going to look into doing that in the long term anyway.
That way we could also standardize IPv6 quantities per location. I'll just see if we can work that into the plan. We'll still keep any existing V6 as we assign them but maybe lock them off for future auto assignments to use our own.
Short answer: we're being cheap and lazy for no reason. Although I will say if ARIN pushes for our client list on a spreadsheet for V6 the way they did with V4, we're 100% not doing that. We didn't do it for 65,536 IPv4 for virtually free and we sure as hell aren't doing it now for $2 worth of IPv6. I'm just morally opposed to that policy.

The no ISO might just be because of the new plan I made for it and forgot to include the ISO group but I actually don't remember if it's using its own or NVMe1G. Could just mean NVMe1G doesn't have it either and no one's noticed.
Milan thing, I have a guess but not really sure. Possibly related to the version of libvirt/qemu we have on it. I assume it was added in when Milan came out at some point and they just mis-identify it? If that could be a thing? I just personally can't wait until people start throwing out conspiracy theories about how we're giving Milan instead of Ryzen to screw customers over or something like that.

From what I have seen in the past the clock rate is unaffected, but the Geekbench score is slightly lower. This is not a new thing and I have seen it happen before on the old E5's where it would show the CPU as a E3 with a clock speed of 2200 mhz. On the old servers installing a debian 6 template would almost always fix it.
If you wanted to confirm that it is a libvirt/qemu version issue maybe you could use virsh edit to manually change the cpu mode in the VM config file to <cpu mode='host-passthrough'/> and see if it fixes the issue. If it did then you would know it was an issue with SolusVM and not the libvirt/qemu version.

I used to have these kinds of problems, but do to a "situation" I was involved in some years ago I found my self without any teeth. Afterward I had titanium implants and cubic zirconia crowns installed as replacements. Best thing I ever did as these things are indestructible. I highly recommend them.

Doesn't seem to, single threaded GB5 performance is within 5-10% of one with a 5900x, close enough I'd call that a margin of error considering various other people on the node. Clock speed matches the known 5900x one as well, so I'm going to assume that's a 5900x in there. I was mostly just curious which cpu the node had since I keep track of all of that kinda stuff in a spreadsheet of my services, but I got my answer haha. I think the bigger concern for people is you can't get VM-x/AMD-V enabled with any of the templates on this node either, though it's not something I really need.

Yeah it's not looking very good for FFME004. Two DIMMs aren't showing up, but are causing a ton of problems. I can't get logs to work so I can't really do much in terms of seeing what happens. And to top it off, an NVMe SSD also simultaneously failed and isn't coming back.
If I had to guess based on what I'm seeing so far it might actually just be the board and the DIMMs and NVMe are fine.

Short answer: we're being cheap and lazy for no reason. Although I will say if ARIN pushes for our client list on a spreadsheet for V6 the way they did with V4, we're 100% not doing that. We didn't do it for 65,536 IPv4 for virtually free and we sure as hell aren't doing it now for $2 worth of IPv6. I'm just morally opposed to that policy.

The no ISO might just be because of the new plan I made for it and forgot to include the ISO group but I actually don't remember if it's using its own or NVMe1G. Could just mean NVMe1G doesn't have it either and no one's noticed.
Milan thing, I have a guess but not really sure. Possibly related to the version of libvirt/qemu we have on it. I assume it was added in when Milan came out at some point and they just mis-identify it? If that could be a thing? I just personally can't wait until people start throwing out conspiracy theories about how we're giving Milan instead of Ryzen to screw customers over or something like that.

From what I have seen in the past the clock rate is unaffected, but the Geekbench score is slightly lower. This is not a new thing and I have seen it happen before on the old E5's where it would show the CPU as a E3 with a clock speed of 2200 mhz. On the old servers installing a debian 6 template would almost always fix it.
If you wanted to confirm that it is a libvirt/qemu version issue maybe you could use virsh edit to manually change the cpu mode in the VM config file to
<cpu mode='host-passthrough'/>and see if it fixes the issue. If it did then you would know it was an issue with SolusVM and not the libvirt/qemu version.I used to have these kinds of problems, but do to a "situation" I was involved in some years ago I found my self without any teeth. Afterward I had titanium implants and cubic zirconia crowns installed as replacements. Best thing I ever did as these things are indestructible. I highly recommend them.
Doesn't seem to, single threaded GB5 performance is within 5-10% of one with a 5900x, close enough I'd call that a margin of error considering various other people on the node. Clock speed matches the known 5900x one as well, so I'm going to assume that's a 5900x in there. I was mostly just curious which cpu the node had since I keep track of all of that kinda stuff in a spreadsheet of my services, but I got my answer haha. I think the bigger concern for people is you can't get VM-x/AMD-V enabled with any of the templates on this node either, though it's not something I really need.

Yeah it's not looking very good for FFME004. Two DIMMs aren't showing up, but are causing a ton of problems. I can't get logs to work so I can't really do much in terms of seeing what happens. And to top it off, an NVMe SSD also simultaneously failed and isn't coming back.
If I had to guess based on what I'm seeing so far it might actually just be the board and the DIMMs and NVMe are fine.

Best case scenario it means we don't wish to sell any additional services to you such as migrations, most likely due to not following instructions in the past, creating too many unnecessary tickets, etc. If your service was originally in another region we'll add a button in the future to where you can request to move back to that region.
