By the way I’m pretty tired, we’re insanely close to soon but I might have to bring everything online soon instead. I’d say tomorrow but the last time I remember saying that was to @Kris a month ago.

IX is having some issues (it’s fully down), it’s going to be looked at tomorrow, likely related to when they added in Cox.

  • New switch has been set up for dedicated servers. Everything is already plugged in per previous updates. IPv4 block ready. Cable management etc already done.

Messing around with PDU and KVM switch configurations now as well as the server provisioning module and getting those three to play well together.

I’m also going to be getting other VPS nodes added to the pool, including storage.

I’ve been cooking again recently. Every time I stop cooking and eat fast food my blood pressure shoots up by like 30 points. But it’s also correlated with not having enough time to cook aka more work so maybe that’s what shoots the blood pressure up.

  • imokimok OG Not Administrator

Can you try not eating fast food for a month?

  • cybertechcybertech OGBenchmark King YABS 24/7/365

@VirMach fast food chains should have some healthier options like grilled chicken salad or something. dont eat processed trash

  • @cybertech said:

It’s not that, at least not for me. What ends up happening is it doesn’t actually have the proper nutrients. I could probably supplement the right vitamins and it would most likely work out. I need all the fats and carbs, I weight around 120 pounds right now.

Probably magnesium and potassium at the very least if I had to guess.

    @imok said:

I’m about to get one too. I have to go the bathroom which means I have to leave the datacenter which means I have to get security to let me back in which means I might as well go get something to eat which means I might as well drive home to get some configurations done from there as it ends up being faster which means I should drive back to the datacenter in the morning.

    that escalated quickly

  • Just a mild update, things are looking good and going as expected. Super close to having our first customer beta test dedicated server pushed out (probably with a fair share of weird issues.) I had a little one hour nap and I've been organizing and planning out and configuring the last few steps at home and going to head out after some coffee, a shower, and grabbing some things (memory for one of the Epyc nodes, 2.5" HDD for the replacement webhosting node, and a few other things like that.)

Also the E5's are on their way, so I've been doing everything in preparation. A little bit more time spent now for time saved later. Those will be more of a next weekend type deal, depending on when they arrive and when the new cabinets are ready.

Your server is in the provisioning module right now and it’s been driving me crazy, I have a headache and had to leave the facility. I couldn’t find a water fountain, I swear they had one. I’m going to the gas station to get gas, water, maybe alcohol and some scratch off tickets. I guess I do have to go back because I left everything* there and just walked out, darn it.

So in conclusion everything is going pretty well, soon.

Too cold, not enough pillows. I wonder if they'd let me put in a sleeping pod if we ever got a cage.

  • Main switch is rebooting.

@Kris your server now has working power controls, and networking-ish probably. It also technicallyyyyy has KVM, you just have to be right next to it at the moment. Most importantly though it doesn't have OS installs working and I have no idea what happened to the one I installed for you like a month ago, I think it's on some other server at this point.

I'm going home but you're going to get your server one way or another today, as long as I don't sleep for 20 hours. I'm not really tired, definitely exhausted, but I need to go put the garbage out before I miss another week, boxes are piling up. And probably do a few other normal human things like buy eggs or something.

He drank the gas, put water into the car, poured alcohol in window washer fluid reservoir, and left the scratch off tickets in the CD-ROM.

New week! Waiting for the weekend!

  • Oh my god finally. Turns out to boost productivity all I needed to do was not halfway sit on a cold floor while awkwardly balancing a 13 inch laptop between my lap and the specific spot it needed to be to have the serial port not pop out.

@Kris your server's basically ready I don't actually know how well anything else works but it's all yours. I mean I'm already doing a victory lap but it's still technically possible for it to break on the third checkpoint. I have no idea what disk it's even installing this on but if you run into issues you can always turn it off and on with the perfectly working power cycle button.

  • imokimok OG Not Administrator

It will fail on the fourth checkpoint.

I recommend having always one RB450G (or the new RB450Gx4) in the work bag. Capable router/nat/kludgemaker, has PoE and works even with a powerbank.
Has real serial console (not the usb knockoff that plagues most adapters) accessible via network that has worked with evertything I have ever plugged it in. A cheap wifi router with it, and you can comfortably do yoga on the yoga mat.
