I mean I thought the common advice with crypto was never pay directly out of your exchange, you withdraw from the exchange to a private wallet, and then transfer from there. Exchanges have regulations, but aside from that they can block wallets just because it's a known payment processor, and they don't want the liability of having funds come directly from them.
I understood it as a way to buy drugs for something you could run instead of folding@home lol, but then btc went from $5 to insane prices, and I thought it was gamblers and speculators. It's still gamblers and speculators, but clearly I should've gambled with everyone else. I had some tiny fractions of a btc left and cashed it all out at $5k, think I bought some VirMach servers with it actually. The ~$12 I spent would be like $250 today if he didn't just immediately convert to real money. Of course, I doubt he's a true believer either, so I'm sure it was exchanged long ago.

Hey, @imok I have so many questions!
1. Are you a dog? A VirMach's dog?! Woof woof!
2. You think VirMach is dead?
3. Or you wanted to highlight your loyalty to VirMach
4. Or you wanted to say you need a server in Tokyo
5. Or Tokyo VirMach is dead
SO MANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ANSWER.

Not taking our money yet at least, I'm just over here waiting patiently for an invoice. Honestly preferable to taking our money and then taking time to get everything set up.
@imok said: Another week... waiting.... @VirMach is it happening? before I run out of money again.
Your server in particular has already been built for about two weeks now maybe. Or 3 or 4, I don’t remember. There’s 28 Ryzen dedicated servers racked including yours, which is all of them for these first two cabinets.
These ended up being the standard configurations:
3700X, 64GB RAM, 1x 4TB NVMe, 2x3TB HDD
3600, 32GB RAM, 1x 2TB NVMe, 1x 2TB SSD
3500, 32GB RAM, 4x1TB SSD
3500, 16GB RAM, 1x 500GB NVMe, 4x1TB HDD
3500, 16GB RAM, 1x 500GB SSD, 4x1TB HDD
2600, 32GB RAM, 1x1TB SSD, 4x3TB HDD
These configs are partially built but no room right now, and might of course be changed:
3600, 16GB RAM, 1x2TB NVMe, 2x1TB HDD
3700X, 64GB RAM, 1x2TB NVMe, 1x3TB HDD
Then there’s configs such as yours that are one of the above but with added disks, and others.
I still don’t want to give an ETA but there’s a possibility it will be soon. I’m currently switching some switches. IPv6 should also come soon to the beta test for virtual servers. Some additional servers for virtual servers being moved in next, including one for shared hosting. And some E5’s.
Cox communications is ready, just waiting on cross connect. So that’ll be added to the blend soon.
Three to five other cabinets coming soon, waiting on confirmation for our purchase on the 100x dual E5’s. If that deal doesn’t go through then the next option could be 300x dual silvers and golds or 400x Epyc but that might take some additional time and I’d have to make sure the demand is there since we have to do higher quantity on those to make it work.
Purchase for 5700X configuration put on hold for now, until next cabs are confirmed. 5500’s are going to get chassis swaps so they’re not being used right now (and also due to BIOS.)
Cable management will probably be redone, and things might move around to “update” it since we ended up doubling up and splitting power but I’ll try to cut that short so I can stop saying soon every week.

We can do them with 128GB RAM, 1-2TB U.2 NVMe for $39 a month early early early bird price if we get that many of them and people actually buy them for the Epyc and probably $29 a month for the silvers. The part you have to guess is how much money we’d be making and if it’s negative and why.
OKC Update
I finally feel confident enough to give you guys kind of a "final update" on everything before official launch.
Storage node - Finally set up, finishing touches stage.
Network - Cox communications has finished the installation, likely will be added to the network blend over the next few days, I'd like some feedback from you guys once that's done. We'll add in Cogent afterward and see what that looks like as well.
Network Overview for those that are interested, as well as some notes on what's changed hardware-wise.
The MX240 router now has additional PSUs (it took a while to get the last two, and I'm swapping out the fans on another PSU that's running hot.) The EX4200's have been taken out and replaced with EX4300's. They might be reintroduced in some light way later.
4x EX4300 (4x40G, 48x1G, 4x10G - each)
1x QFX5100 (24x40G, 8x40G)
1x QFX5100 (96x10G, 8x40G)
2x EX4200 (technically still exist but not used)
Not sure why we need that much for two cabinets but whatever. I would’ve probably gone Arista, that would have just added a lot of “soons” for me to be comfortable with it. Later maybe. It'll make more sense once we have more cabinets. Keep in mind we are in the process of getting additional cabinets so there may be some network maintenance in the near future where switches get moved around to other cabinets.
Network Continued - Plans have shifted enough to where it'll definitely be worth it to redo cable management and/or switch positions. That will likely happen today, that means downtime for beta testers and potential IP changes incoming today/tomorrow. I'm also going to be fiddling around with configurations.
Additional servers - About 10 more VPS nodes are going to be added in this week. There's about 60 additional Ryzen dedicated servers left over, waiting on additional cabinets. Then the order for 106x dual E5's has been confirmed and that will arrive in 1-2 weeks in time for additional cabinets being set up. The setup process for the dual E5's will be much faster.
Webhosting - Working on this now, the server in LAX is having issues, we're likely going to deploy a new server in Oklahoma, move everyone over, and potentially move to DirectAdmin as well. It might end up going on the dual gold, we were originally going to purchase a lot of these but decided against it and it could work out well, perhaps using both nodes as some type of failover. This is probably at least a week out.
Ryzen dedicated - All the ones that are racked are being powered on. Soon™ indeed. They're being moved over to another switch and network is being set up in conjunction with the provisioning software, likely today/tomorrow. I really really want to finally get the few servers out to @bakageta@Kris@imok@skorous and whoever else I'm forgetting before the weekend. So to confirm again, every server that's supposed to be there is there/racked and many have been for some time, I do apologize for all the delays.
IPv6 - Soon.
Sale - Likely not this weekend. This way if we do it this weekend I can look cool instead of saying we're going to do a sale this weekend and miss it for the 4th or 5th time.

I'm not a dog. I don't like dogs. They leave smells everywhere. The only dog I loved so much is dead now and I won't love any other one.
It seems Virmach is alive in many forms, physically and theoretically.

No Tokyo. Tokyo is expensive, weird and far away.
Maybe. I hope not because many people here should be using that.
