He might currently be attempting travel to Italy, regain access to his DC equipment, and is trying to restart his hosting company in Europe where immigration policy is more friendly.

We can't say since we don't know why they went offline. If it was a networking / power issue on the data center side then possibly. It's also possible ( if unlikely ) that a host simply rebooted itself and spent several days fsck'ing a file-system before coming back online. That said, the more likely is that Virmach's out there somewhere ....

We were getting hundreds of alerts per week for the Los Angeles chicken, so we disabled the email alerts.
I used HetrixTools and enabled maintenance mode for the Los Angeles server, eliminating all those annoying alerts and preventing any impact on status updates for other servers.

We can't say since we don't know why they went offline. If it was a networking / power issue on the data center side then possibly. It's also possible ( if unlikely ) that a host simply rebooted itself and spent several days fsck'ing a file-system before coming back online.
