Generally, if you bought the service before they started posting about restricting 25, it either won't be restricted in the first place, or you can open a ticket to have it lifted. but also, don't use virmach for hosting your primary mail, it's really only good for alerting about system issues, and there's zero promise that you'll be on a good IP. your mail is not going to get delivered from here, if you're counting on a $7 special to handle your email, you need to look to mxroute.

Never thinking of renewing my @VirMach stuff. Unfortunately, my account credit did.
Skill issue? If you had it flagged for cancellation, it won't generate an invoice or pull out of your credit. If you know you aren't renewing it, why not already have it flagged to cancel? They stay usable while the request is pending.
Virmach's best feature is that you can cancel and remove cancellation automatically... so you could leave it to the last day and remove the cancellation and pay if you wanted to give yourself the maximum amount of time to think it over.
I have five fantastic deals in Los Angeles, which will most likely not get renewed as I can't really use them when they are flopping all the time. Sad days. On the bright side I still have eleven good VPS from Vir to renew. More than anything I wonder what happened to the guy to make him disappear like this. Wishing him the best, and thanks for all those good years.

Thanks. I've got mxroute but I would use it for example for site emails if I was doing ecommerce or something like that. What about port 80, are they strict on that?
i've been with them since 2018, so I am not ready (yet) to completely abandon them. Uptime on some of their servers has been excellent and better than some of the more premium providers I have had, but of course YMMW here wildly.

Anybody else notice that the Vir https://vps.blackfriday page said "count down to Black Friday 2024" before and now says "count down to Black Friday 2025"?

Their BF events were always nice especially back in the day, so it is a bit sad that the tradition has seemingly come to the end. Even though the level of service varies a lot, I was gladly paying the few dollars per year just for the entertaining factor of the events. Also the BF website in the recent years brought nice 'gambling effect' with wildly varying and sometimes crazy offers.

Ugh. I got double billed. No response to ticket. Am I going to have to dispute the charge? Seems the lights are on but no one is home again?
Happy to report the PayPal dispute was ruled in my favor and my money was refunded. I didn't realize he was MIA again, mostly because my service has always been very solid. Oh well. Time to start migrating away.
Any neighbors here on node MIAZ012 in Atlanta?
Is this node dead also?

I had a working one but I did not renew it: the man is completely silent, I do not expect any server to run for another 12 months at this stage.... once the incoming cash gets below the outgoing amount~ some servers will probably be unplugged... BE SURE TO HAVE BACKUPS!

Has VirMach ever been away this long and during a BF/CM on top of it? I hope he's ok.
VirmAche has been taken over by AI since two years ago.
There's no longer a "he".
The AI crashed due to chip shortage.
Machines will keep running, but according to HostCram the hardware only lasts three years, so that they will be dead soon.
If VirmAche does not resurface by Dec 10, we will cancel our remaining paid machine.
NVMe2G-for-life will not be canceled, but with its 80% monthly, it ain't useful.

It's quite normal for Virmach's SOON™ to be a tiny bit later and more unpredictable than 'normal' people.
But if he doesn't show up today to give at least a 'Hi' during CyberMonday, my slight concern might become a bit of a worry that something happened to him.

Wait wait what if this all was a ploy to clear nodes of unsustainable virbot deals that have been running unexpectedly for almost one year. His disappearance coincides with the time that virbot was shut down
If anything helps those that renewed despite the troubling signs... it's at least relieving that DC bills are still being paid?
You could be right!
This could all just be to have the die hards HODL and remain, and to let the 'difficult customers' go. :-D
(disclaimer: I still insist that buying crypto isn't "investing", it is gambling. Each to their own, but it frustrates me when people want to equate it to investment rather than speculative gambling. )
I have two services that auto renewed, another might do the same… have leas than 10 dolla credit. Rather than letting it go waste, might finally put these three idlers for some
Productive use.
As someone who has been using these ATL servers for corporate use (with backups) and only found out about VirMach's disappearance when I checked vps.blackfriday and this thread, RIP it was good while it lasted... easily the best deals I ever had. Sitting on the fence if I should renew...

i have a $4.96/y server renewing soon, tempted to renew it even though the network flaps more than a flag in high wind

We have two VirmAche machines.
box5, NVMe2G for life, 2C2G50G in Los Angeles.
According to UptimeRobot, its uptime is 80%, basically unusable.
vps1, 2C1536M60G 2xIPv4, $11.11/year in New York.
It has good uptime.
Renewal date is Christmas Eve.

Well, lets see this "refugee offer"? from Cloudcone xD (3vCPU/2GB/30GB) $16.99 Missouri[1]
