Hi, I'm from China. My hobby is collecting cheap VPS — I've lost count of how many $7/year boxes I still pay for out of pure laziness.
What I really enjoy is the network layer: traceroutes, peering, CN2 vs 163 vs
CMI, looking glasses, and trying to find the least bad path from Shanghai to
anywhere. I write scripts to auto-test route quality, tweak BBR and tc, and
generally spend too much time on this.
I'm here for the deals and for people who discuss routes with data instead of opinions.

Found it through the usual chain — googling cheap VPS, hitting LowEndBox, then
LowEndTalk, then noticing LES. I stayed because the pace here is slower and people
seem to remember each other's names.
Beyond VPS, I play a lot of games on overseas servers, and that's what pulled me
into routing: I rent small boxes near the game servers as relays, since game traffic
is UDP and cares more about jitter and loss than ping. I run mtr a lot, compare CN2
GIA vs 163 vs CMI both ways, and test whether an exit really helps or just looks good
on paper.

What I really enjoy is the network layer: traceroutes, peering, CN2 vs 163 vs
CMI, looking glasses, and trying to find the least bad path from Shanghai to
anywhere. I write scripts to auto-test route quality, tweak BBR and tc, and
generally spend too much time on this.

Beyond VPS, I play a lot of games on overseas servers, and that's what pulled me
into routing: I rent small boxes near the game servers as relays, since game traffic
is UDP and cares more about jitter and loss than ping. I run mtr a lot, compare CN2
GIA vs 163 vs CMI both ways, and test whether an exit really helps or just looks good
on paper.

My main interest is squeezing useful work out of small machines — things like running lightweight Docker services, setting up a WireGuard/SSH gateway, hosting a small Uptime Kuma monitoring stack, and testing minimal Linux distros on 512MB NAT boxes.
