I am a software developer, been developing web applications for over 3 years by now. Two escaping into another field doesn't get out of my ownership legally, they are in an unintended field but still under my ownership, I just need to get them back to where they belong.

Moreover, if your goat stays in your yard, do you still have to pay property taxes on it? Is it like a Mobile Home?

Hi everyone! I’m a developer working on self-hosted infrastructure. I build gPanel, a Linux hosting control panel (an AlmaLinux-based alternative to cPanel), and GirginOSVM, a small KVM/libvirt platform for running your own VMs. I’ve spent years in the hosting/self-hosting world and love squeezing performance out of low-end boxes. I’d like to join to learn from this community, swap notes on panels, virtualization and VPS tuning, and get honest, no-nonsense feedback on what I’m building. Happy to help with Linux/panel/VM questions too.

I found LowEndSpirit through LowEndTalk while researching VPS providers and self-hosting setups — this community keeps coming up whenever people talk about getting the most out of cheap boxes. Outside of coding, I’m into Linux tinkering, home labs, networking and generally over-engineering my own hosting stack. Always keen to learn how others run lean, reliable servers on a budget.

Hi everyone! I am registering to participate in VPS reviews, ask for setup advice, and stay updated on low-end server deals and hosting performance.
Beyond that, I am really interested in learning more about different virtualization technologies like KVM, LXC, and OpenVZ, as well as optimizing server performance on low-resource machines. I frequently work with Linux administration (mostly Debian and Ubuntu), setting up reverse proxies, Docker containers, automated backup routines, and self-hosted applications.
I am also keen on seeing network latency tests, routing quality, peerings, and community benchmarks for various hosting providers across North America, Europe, and Asia. I look forward to contributing to discussion threads, sharing my own benchmark results, helping out where I can, and learning from the collective experience of the community

You own 5 sheep in a field. Two escape through a broken fence into the next field, and you need all 5 sheep to remain in the field. How many sheep do you still own?
I still have five sheep, because even if they run away, they’re still mine.
Moreover, if your goat stays in your yard, do you still have to pay property taxes on it? Is it like a Mobile Home?
And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

How did you discover lowendspirit and do you have any extra information you would like to add e.g. interests, hobbies etc.

I came here because of the reputation of this major forum in the hosting community. I’m a real person, not a bot. I’m registering an account to see if there are cheap hosting options and to exchange ideas, and to see how the experts here tinker with their small VPS instances.

I raised five sheep. Even if they ran away, they’re still my sheep—I’ll just catch them and bring them back.

Are you an alt for another account?

Thanks! Best wishes!
Yes. Ill DM you to remove the other one!
Well, to call it a datacenter is a little hard, when in reality it is a server room.
Time will show what comes out of it.
Probably you want to get in touch with the Mods or the Administrators instead of me.

I discovered LowEndSpirit while searching for budget VPS reviews on Reddit and LowEndTalk. I was Googling for cheap providers and your forum kept coming up as a great resource. Besides my interest in self-hosting and server management, I also enjoy reading sci-fi novels and playing PC games in my free time. I'm currently learning more about network routing and hope to contribute to the community.

I still own 5 sheep. Ownership doesn't change just because they escaped, I just need to go fix the fence and bring them back.
