technical. Outside work I tinker with homelab setups and do a lot of route
and latency testing between Asian regions, which is honestly half hobby and
half job. I also follow the Chinese-language VPS community closely, so I
notice when a provider is well known in one language community and
completely unheard of in another.

I'd drive — not because of the distance, but because the car needs to
actually be at the car wash. Walking there would leave it sitting in my
driveway. I'd walk back home while it's being washed and get the sun then.

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome! As for my English, I am actually from Lahore, Pakistan. Most of it came from school, but I think a much bigger part came naturally from spending years online, talking with people from different countries, working around hosting/tech communities, and reading and writing in English pretty much every day. Over time it just became normal for me, talking like this.

No, I did not use AI to write my membership request. I wrote it myself. I do use AI for many things in general, especially technical research or to gather information and make my work productive, but that application was written by me.

I work at a cloud provider, on the channel and partnerships side. That means most of what I hear all day is the sales version of things, and I would rather read what actual users say about machines.
I should say up front that I am on the vendor side. I am not here to post offers. I know that goes through the provider tag process and I have not applied for it. For now I just want to read, ask things, and reply where I actually have something useful to add. I mostly work on Southeast Asia and Latin America, so if a question about those markets comes up I can probably answer it, including the parts that are not flattering to us.

I found LES while going through LowEndTalk and LowEndBox threads — a few
links pointed here, and I liked that the discussions are smaller and more
technical. Outside work I tinker with homelab setups and do a lot of route
and latency testing between Asian regions, which is honestly half hobby and
half job. I also follow the Chinese-language VPS community closely, so I
notice when a provider is well known in one language community and
completely unheard of in another.

I'd drive — not because of the distance, but because the car needs to
actually be at the car wash. Walking there would leave it sitting in my
driveway. I'd walk back home while it's being washed and get the sun then.

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome! As for my English, I am actually from Lahore, Pakistan. Most of it came from school, but I think a much bigger part came naturally from spending years online, talking with people from different countries, working around hosting/tech communities, and reading and writing in English pretty much every day. Over time it just became normal for me, talking like this.

No, I did not use AI
to write my membership request. I wrote it myself. I do use AI for many things in general, especially technical research or to gather information and make my work productive, but that application was written by me.

I work at a cloud provider, on the channel and partnerships side. That means most of what I hear all day is the sales version of things, and I would rather read what actual users say about machines.
I should say up front that I am on the vendor side. I am not here to post offers. I know that goes through the provider tag process and I have not applied for it. For now I just want to read, ask things, and reply where I actually have something useful to add. I mostly work on Southeast Asia and Latin America, so if a question about those markets comes up I can probably answer it, including the parts that are not flattering to us.

I found LES while looking for places where people discuss VPS quality rather than just post offers. Most of what comes up in a search is affiliate listicles, and this is clearly not that.
What I am most interested in is routing and latency in markets that do not get written about much, mainly Southeast Asia and Latin America. If there are existing threads here on that, I would be glad to be pointed at them.
